Holidays such as Christmas, Halloween and Valentines Day are not present in Animal Crossing: Wild world. However, there are plenty of events to keep you busy through the year. A huge part of Animal Crossing's uniqueness is the function that allows certain events to happen at certain days or weeks in the year. The year calendar is a loop, so 2006's year is the same as 2007's.

This is how the information for each holiday or event will be displayed:

When the holiday or event will take place, regardless of year.
Duration

Animals will also come to visit your house and will want to buy some of your items. They will stay in your main room and will not enter any other rooms.

It is a good idea to prepare for the Flea Market by removing items you wish to keep and replacing them with items you’d like to sell. It is best to do this the day before the market. Depending on your friendship with a certain animal they may pay up to 3 times what Nook pays for an item. If done properly this can make you a lot of money. Remember that when animals receive new items for their house the sometimes put the old stuff into the recycle bin. It’s a good idea to check this throughout the day.

Each animal will only visit once and animals that are sick or are packed up will not participate.

The Acorn Festival is a week long event where you can get items of the rare Mush furniture set. Each day during the festival you will find acorns lying beneath non-fruit bearing trees. You will also notice a stranger in front of the town hall. He goes by the name ‘Cornimer’. He is in fact the mayor disguised in an acorn mask. In order to receive items from the Mush set you need to collect the acorns and give them to Cornimer.

Cornimer will also give you a Fortune each day.

Helpful tips
  • Do not give rotten acorns to Cornimer. Before speaking to him be sure to remove all rotten acorns from your pockets. If you have any rotten acorns, Cornimer will take all the acorns in your inventory and will not add them to your running total!
  • Cedar trees will not produce acorns. The acorns are randomly places under non-fruit bearing trees. Planting extra trees will not produce more acorns.
  • Clear any flowers, weeds or fruit from around trees. If there are any items lying under the trees the acorns will not be produced in these spots. This can cause you missing out on acorns.
  • Remove rotten acorns from around the trees. This will also stop new acorns appearing the next day. Nook will buy them.
