These are the various secrets and side quests of Crisis Core.
Magic Pot[edit]
You can encounter the Magic Pot in several missions, it is though a random encounter, you cannot see it roaming around. You will have to perform a certain number of attacks/abilities directed to the Magic Pot. The first time you meet the Magic Pot and fulfill its request, you unlock it as a summon in the DMW. The next times, it yields a rare item :
- M2-2-6
- M2-5-4
- M7-6-6
- M10-2-3 / Materia needed: Jump, Fira, Gravity, and Assault Twister / Rewards: Feather Cap or Doc's Code
Cactuar & Tonberry[edit]
To unlock those two summons, you first need to find them in missions M3-1-3 (Cactuar) and M6-1-5 (Tonberry), this will unlock a series of side quests M10-1 and M10-2. Finish them both to unlock Cactuar & Tonberry in the DMW.
Avoiding random encounters[edit]
You can avoid most fights (especially in Missions) by hugging the walls.
Completing the DMW to 100%[edit]
The last cutscenes only unlock in Chapter 10, so wait until then to start doing this. Now, if by the first Save Point of Chapter 10 you've not completed each entry to 100%, the best way is to:
- Reach Heavenly status (buy and equip up to 6 Lucky Stars materia in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII/Shops#Research_Dept._QMC+/), to do so, equip the materia, and start mission M1-1-1, kill every guard but one, and wait until you can launch Lucky Stars and reach the Heavenly status, then finish the mission
- Save
- Choose a character/summon (one with its entry not completed of course), buy its materia up to 6 time to the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII/Shops#Research_Dept._QMC+/ (for Characters) or Junon Souvenirs and Bone Village Commerce (for Summons)
- Save
- Start mission M1-1-1 and just wait, if at some time you go back to Normal status and you didn't get any scene, restart the fight or reload
