Famista '90 (ファミスタ'90? Family Stadium '90) is a baseball game developed and published by Namco for the Famicom at the end of 1989. the seventh game in Namco's long-running baseball series and the fifth to be released for the Nintendo Famicom.
The game's memory capacity has been expanded to 2MB, which is double that of the previous work, and it came equipped with a battery backup. In addition, switch hitters (right and left only until the previous work) and side throw pitchers (only over throw and under throw until the previous work) have been added. As a specification unique to this work, when a batter with a batting average of .304 or more hits a liner hit, a line drive is applied to the batted ball and it stalls in the outfield. For this reason, it is easier for a batter with a batting average of less than 30% to hit a liner hit.
In the game mode, in place of the knock-out battle up to the previous work, the league game introduced in the Game Arts version and the MSX2 version in the PC version was adopted for the first time in the home version. 2 to 6 teams can set 1 to 9 games for each card, with a maximum of 45 games. In addition, it became possible to freely choose the number of innings from 1, 3, 5, and 9 by reimporting from the Game Boy version " Famista ". In the series, only this work has a hole effect when the ball hits the back screen directly.
In addition, details such as changing the BGM during the game to the same as the arcade version of Warstar ("'89 opening version" and later) have also been modified.
Unlike the player edit up to the previous work, you can create a "helper" whose ability value changes depending on the name and type, and register it with any team in the league match. The created helper is registered in the form of replacing the pinch hitter fourth.
