Kirby's Dream Land 2 is a platformer developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy in 1995. It is the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land, but incorporates more elements from Kirby's Adventure than from the former. Although playable on the Game Boy, the game was released with the Super Game Boy adapter for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in mind; using the adapter to play it adds a custom Kirby-themed border and premade level-specific palettes and even portrays some sections of the game, like menu screens and the ending, in full colour. It was re-released via the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012.

Like other games in the Kirby series, the game stars the pink puffball Kirby, who must use his unique abilities to progress through the game's side-scrolling stages and defeat a number of bosses along the way. Similarly to Kirby's Adventure, the game enables him to swallow his enemies to steal their powers (Copy Abilities) and use them to his advantage. Unique to this game and its sequel, Kirby's Dream Land 3, is the ability to team up with Animal Friends in order to enhance these powers, each ability/friend combination resulting in a new, unique power.
