You'll encounter Diddle and Capella here, as well as many Dudbears. You can talk to him, but nothing will happen the first time. Exit this area and re-enter. This time you will see Capella leave and the mission will officially begin. Talk to Diddle, then go back to the World Map.
Reach another location on the map, the one you prefer, perhaps even to face another mission. However, the next time you return to the world map, you will notice a group of Shadoles reaching Lumina. Return to Lumina and talk to Diddle. He will come with you, to look for his friend. However, when you return to the city map, he will also be taken away by the Shadoles. Then go to the Underworld.
After a short skit, Diddle and Capella will be dragged away by the Shadoles. The Shadoles will take you too and you will be taken to the bottom of the Underworld. Pokiehl will be here. He will tell you not to talk to the Shadoles on this adventure. He will also ask you if you want to return to the surface. Refuse, or you will fail this mission! When you're ready, exit to the left.
All you have to do now is follow the path, there are no forks. However, you must be careful not to touch the Shadoles you encounter, or you will be taken back to the bottom of the Underworld and will have to start all over again from the beginning. In the first two screens, even though there are a lot of Shadoles, avoiding them is relatively easy. In some screens later you will also find enemies to fight, but nothing to worry about. You will then come to screens in which the Shadoles disappear and reappear, even making themselves invisible for a few moments. Overcoming this stretch is more difficult. A good strategy is to memorize their routes and keep close to the walls. Eventually you will meet Diddle and Cappella again, who will decide together to return to the surface. The Shadoles however will summon a monster, which you will have to defeat.
Ape Mummy is not difficult to defeat. Even though it has a lot of life energy, its attacks are not much different from those of common enemies. You can face it with the weapon you are comfortable with and you should get the upper hand in a short time.
After your victory, you'll be back in the land of the living with Capella and Diddle and your mission will conclude.
