Enter the Ulkan Mines. You should find Pokiehl. Talk to him to start this mission. You'll find yourself in a living flashback. After a short skit with a young Escad, follow him and go to the right. You'll meet again Pokiehl, down the stairs. You can tell him that you're in a hurry to speed things up, or continue to follow him, talking to him every time.
Anyway, at the end you’ll find yourself in an area with gases appearing from the ground. Another skit, with Irwin and Matilda will begin. When you can move, take the Sulpher from the chest, then proceed to the right. At the fork, take the lower path. A little further on, you will meet Irwin and Matilda again. After another dialogue between them, you will wake up.
An adult Escad will be with you. Talk to him and you'll be forced to choose who's side you're on, Escad's or Daena's. If you choose Escad, the mission will end immediately, if you choose Daena, you will have to face him in combat. It's nothing complicated, just remember to move away when it starts flashing, to avoid its more powerful attacks. After defeating him the mission will end, but unfortunately you will not get any rewards or experience after the battle.
