The courses can easily take a lot of getting used to in all cups. The bigger the cup, the harder the racer, the shorter the drift length and the increase of weapon frequency. This walkthrough will take you step by step in each courses in finding the best line to the short cuts to finding hidden ways to get ahead of the competition.

Here's the order of difficulty and the tip to winning the Grand Prix and Versus Mode:

  • 50cc: Slow and perfect for beginners. Stay ahead and be defensive, especially the blue shell.
  • 100cc: Standard difficulty that keeps the race from being cheap or overly difficult. Balance offensive and defense with the random items you receive.
  • 150cc: Prepare for a barrage of weapons and the AI racers determination to win in each round. So go on the offensive until you reach first and watch out for red shells and blue shells.
  • Mirror 150cc: Same thing but with a left/right situation. Just memorize which left is right and what right is left and don't get confused between the two!
  • 200cc: Proceed with caution with this cup. It's twice the speed as 100cc and its key to using the brakes with drifting! This is for the utmost experts who likes to handle even tougher challengers with an exceptional brake drifting skills to match.
