Mission: Impossible is an action game developed by Konami and published by Ultra Games for the NES. It was relased in North America in September 1990 and in Europe in November 1991. The game is based on the second Mission: Impossible TV series. The player controls three IMF (Impossible Mission Force) agents in their mission to rescue Doctor "0" and his secretary from the terrorist group Sinister 7, which intends to cause a nuclear war.

The game is divided into six areas. It combines action levels with shooter-like intermission areas. The game is equipped with a password system that allows the player to start the adventure from the furthest area reached.

Plot[edit]

The world-acclaimed scientist Doctor 0, programmer of the newest U.S. military defense system and her secretary Shannon were kidnapped by the terrorist organization "Sinister 7". Unbeknownst to the terrorists, Shannon is an undercover IMF agent tasked with protecting the doctor. She managed to send a coded message, informing the IMF about where they are being held. It’s then up to the IMF special agents to free Doctor 0 and Shannon from Sinister 7 and find out what the terrorists are planning, stopping them before it is too late.
