Ninja: Shadow of Darkness - sometimes referred to simply as Ninja' - is an action-adventure game released for the PlayStation in September 1998. It was developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. The game referred to a Ninja Story with Samurai of Japan.

There is a man trying to contact other worldly creatures. He manages to contact the creatures and all hell breaks loose.

The gameplay involves beating enemies, avoiding traps, jumping and shopping. Kicks, punches, weapons and throwable weapons can be used to defeat enemies. Attacks can be powered up few times by picking certain pickup. The power levels carry to the next stage making the game easier if the player can finish the stage without dying.

Pickups can be found from chests but beware as they can be booby trapped. The pickups include for example swords, coins and the power up pickup. At certain points the game can be saved and coins spend at shop. There are secret loot things that twinkle like a star or something. The loot can be revealed by doing an attack at the point.
