Gatekeepers[edit]

The player controlling the gatekeepers uses the Wii U GamePad.

  • Neutral lstick: Move Gatekeeper 1
  • ZL button: Tackle with Gatekeeper 1
  • Neutral rstick: Move Gatekeeper 2
  • ZR button: Tackle with Gatekeeper 2

Animals[edit]

The animal player(s) use the Wii Remote, held horizontally (Remote-Horizontal button).

  • Neutral dpad: Move
  • 1 button: Drop candy
  • 2 button: Pick up candy

Gameplay[edit]

The GamePad player, controlling two gatekeepers dressed as Copper and Booker, must catch the animals three times in total (can be the same animal or different animals), while the Wii Remote player(s), dressed as Dizzy, Peanut, Lily, and Tangy, must collect a certain amount of candy (40 for four animals, 35 for three, and 30 for two) scattered around the map or held in trees, which can be shaken loose by standing on a button in front of it. If there is only one animal, they must instead deposit 15 pieces of candy total into bowls scattered around the map by standing on a button in front of them.

At the start of the match, the animals get 10 seconds to run away and hide from the gatekeepers. The animals are slowed down as they collect more candy, so if they're in danger of being caught, they can drop some of the candy they've collected to speed back up. The animals will also drop some of their collected candy if they're caught by one of the gatekeepers.
