Tehm’pul Temple[edit]

We cut to Phoenix outside the palace worrying about Maya. Edgeworth is also here, and hands you the evidence Apollo and Athena just uncovered - Inga’s Autopsy Report, the Tomb Diagram and the Tomb Crime Photo. Phoenix and Edgeworth are then summoned to an audience with Queen Ga’ran by one of her Lah’kees. Move to Audience Chamber.

Audience Chamber[edit]

We get a scene with Ga’ran. Rayfa is looking worse for wear, but considering everything that has transpired in the last day…

  • Inga’s Crime: Ga’ran asks phoenix to investigate Inga’s motive for kidnapping Maya. Her suspicion is that he was going to use the founder’s orb to usurp the throne.
  • Dhurke the Criminal: Ga’ran seems disproportionately eager to convict Dhurke compared to the death of her husband. Rayfa does not feel the same. The Queen reveals that while Amara was on the throne, Ga’ran was acting as the Minister for Justice.
  • Defense Culpability Act: When Ga’ran ascended the throne, the DCA was immediately passed into law. Ga’ran cites the Dhurke’s assassination of Queen Amara as her motivation to reform the justice system in such a way. Apparently, it was the only way to restore trust in the law after Dhurke’s ‘betrayal’.

Phoenix mentions to Ga’ran, perhaps unwisely, that Apollo is Dhurke’s adoptive son. You are then sent to investigate in town. Move to Bazaar.

Bazaar[edit]

Phoenix introduces Edgeworth to the Bazaar. Within moments, there is a loud BANG, which happens to be Datz again with his firecrackers. Not far behind is Rayfa, who causes Datz to flee. Rayfa seems to be struggling with the concept that Inga might double cross his wife and Queen, and due to this she seems to be determined to uncover the truth. She allows you to enter Inga’s private quarters. Move to Royal Residence with Edgeworth in tow.

Royal Residence[edit]

Edgeworth is now your companion :) Was the courtyard always in such… dissaray? Examine the footprints, the toppled red urn, and the gold lion. The ground appears to be soaked. Someone is also audibly crying nearby? Oh.. oh no :(

Side note, Rayfa says the water was due to a dog causing trouble. Move to Inga’s Private Quarters.

Inga’s Private Quarters[edit]

There appears to be clues in here. Of note, Nayna appears to be missing, and we’ve played enough of this series not to be suspicious of this. Talk to Rayfa first. Some nice character development all round occurring here.

Examine the footprints. It’s clear someone entered this room recently. Examine the two things on the table. One is an ink pad and the other is a syringe for Inga’s back pain (added as evidence). Examine the chair, with the backrest and the notepad (added as evidence). It seems that Inga was faceblind?

Examine the gold bust. There’s a safe, but Nick and Edgey decide not to crack it yet. Examine the bed and the bottle by the window. Now it’s time to crack the safe, choose Rayfa’s birthday as your guess. Examine the safe to receive… It’s a letter from Rayfa. Also there’s Inga’s Ga’ran Assassination Plan, describing his intent to poison her in order to possess the Founder’s Orb and the Throne. Finally, you get a photo of a grey haired mother with a child, and Dhurke’s law book in the background. Why would this be in Inga’s safe? Move to Royal Residence.

Royal Residence[edit]

Edgey is attacked by Shah’do the dog (very calmly at first). We hear about the time Shah’do attacked another person’s outfit. Talk to Alhbi and receive Ahlbi’s Statement on Nayna’s Hat, which was found at 2PM by the palace. Alhbi also managed to take a photo of what appears to be Ga’ran performing a spirit channeling. This was all possible due to a hole in the palace’s wall.

Examine the toppled red urn again. It was also Shah’do’s fault, for reasons I’m sure will be relevant soon.
