At the start of a civil trial, the judge is shocked by defence attorneys on either side, worried that they'll put their personalities in this court trial. The judge warns both of them not to cause trouble in the way of the trial. On Phoenix side, his politician claims that his orb is from Ami Fey. On Apollo's side, his claim is that the orb originated from Kuhura'in. The first witness would by Ema. She'll start off with her testimony.

Bad Ending #1

If you deplete your Confidence Gauge at any point during civil trial, you will achieve first bad ending:

Spoiler

The judge will rule in favor of the plaintiff, permanently ending the hope for revolution in Khura'in and causing Wright and Justice's relationship to never be the same again.

Ema's Testimony: The Doctor's Dark Secret[edit]

Ema Skye

Ema Skye's Testimony
- The Doctor's Dark Secret -
  1. The police have had their eyes on Dr. Buff for some time.
  2. And just today, a number of stolen artifacts were discovered in his study.
  3. Among them were a priceless urn and a statue that were stolen from the Fey clan.
  4. It seems the doctor would do anything to study artifacts, including steal them.
  5. As for the relic at the center of this dispute, he likely stole it from the Atishon residence.

The Doctor's Dark Secret: Cross-Examination[edit]

Is it true that he stole it from Atishon residence? Press the fifth statement. She'll explain that it happens about a year ago. Robbery Report added to the Court Record.

Present the E-Mail on the fifth statement. It's revealed that the victim was talking to PAW which should stand for is Paul Atishon-Wimperson but what does 711 mean anyway? Apollo calls the politician to the stand. Despite the political nonsense you have to deal with you should select Your Birthday. He reveals that he's born on July 11, which proves that he's the one in contact with the victim, much to the dismay from both defences. Still, the politician will not give up on it. So, he testifies about the crystal which he claims that he owns.

- The Illustrious History of the Atishon Clan -
  1. My ancestor was praised as a benevolent ruler.
  2. He protected the spirit mediums, a minority back then, from the rest of the locals.
  3. Some discriminated against them, you see, while others tried to abuse their power.
  4. As thanks, Ami Fey gave the crystal she had specially made as a gift to him.
  5. I am a descendent of that great lord.
  6. As such, my political power and influence is backed by centuries of history!

The Illustrious History of the Atishon Clan: Cross-Examination[edit]

Present the Research Notes on the fourth statement. Apollo will argue against that assumption that Paul claims that the orb belongs to him. Present the design below the orb. It's really a diamond shape on the middle of the page on the left.

Both sides continue to argue until they reach a stalemate. Apollo has no idea. So, it would be wise to select Does not exist. Phoenix Wright then explain about the murder and the person who calls for help is the politician Paul Atishon-Wimperson. Dr. Buff's Autopsy Report added to the Court Record. Next, the politician will testify about the crime against Mr. Are'bal. Not to mention that he's in the gallery too!

Atishon's Testimony: The Rebel's Crime[edit]

Paul Atishon-Wimperson

Paul Atishon-Wimperson's Testimony
- The Rebel's Crime -
  1. That evening, I was walking alone, lost in thought.
  2. I passed by the doctor's house... and that's when I saw Mr. Are'bal.
  3. He was running out the front door.
  4. It was around 10 at night. Surely that must've been him fleeing the scene of his crime.
  5. A vote for me is a vote to end such violence. That is my promise to you!

So, he claims to see Mr. Are'bal from the window outside his study room. Study Photo updated in the Court Record.

The Rebel's Crime: Cross-Examination[edit]

Time to dispel the fact on this crime. Press the second statement. He'll explain that he saw Mr. Are'bal under the tree then exits the house. Is it really all that important to know from where the plaintiff saw Mr. Are'bal? Select Yes, it is. New statement added to the witness's testimony.

  • I was under this tree when I saw Mr. Are'bal.

Press the fourth statement. So, the witness didn't notify the police. Is that an important statement, Mr. Justice? Select Yes, it is. New statement added to the witness's testimony.

  • I had no idea that Dr. Buff was dead. That's why I didn't call the police.

Present the Study Photo on the new statement. Apollo points out that the window is very high, you can't see the trees and the grass, further breaking down Paul's claim to the orb. Next and perhaps the most absurd, Phoenix Wright will call out Sarge to testify. Well, it's actually a drone which looks like a helicopter and boy it could cause a lot of trouble in the courtroom.

Sarge's Testimony: What Happened That Evening[edit]

Sergeant Buff
Sergeant Buff
Sergeant Buff's Testimony
- What Happened That Evening -
  1. Papa met with someone the night he died.
  2. I didn't have eyes on the ground, as I'd already mounted my siege defense, but...
  3. ...I did hear him arguing with someone in his study!
  4. From my window, I saw the one designated "Datz" getting ejected from the premises.
  5. After that, the man lingered around the perimeter for some time.
  6. He must have regrouped and killed my papa in the study later -- I just know it!

What Happened That Evening: Cross-Examination[edit]

Present Sarge's Drone on the second statement. Apollo points out that all the features of the drone is not all that effective in its senses. Athena then detects the noise level and calls Sarge to go through a therapy session. Time to calm the Sarge down before it gets worse.

Pinpoint Surprise on the fourth statement. Sarge, you weren't as shocked at seeing your father's body as seeing Mr. Are'bal because... Select "You'd already seen his body". Noise reduces to 70%. Before she continues, Sarge causes trouble by stealing Athena's Widget and the judge's gavel, causing chaos in the courtroom. After everything has calm down, it's time to continue with the therapy session. Let's find out what tick the drone off.

Present the Founder's Orb on the sixth statement. Apollo and Athena reassure Sarge that everything's ok and asks him to take the first step in fighting his fears. Noise reduces to 0%. In a shocking twist, the one on the wheelchair is actually a girl named Armie who is the one who controls the drone. She wants to know if her father successfully finishes his research on the orb. Despite Wright's protest, with Armie's permission, Justice and Cykes were allowed to use a lighter to heat the wax down from the orb. But do those steps down below before you make it happen.

Could this explain what Sarge means by the Holy Mother appearing in the burning orb? Present the Research Notes. What points to the woman who appeared in the orb? Present the third text "Offer thy prayers as fervent as fire Only then shall the Holy Mother return." Founder's Orb updated in the Court Record. This proves that the orb is rightfully belongs to Khura'in. But something strange is happening when Paul starts to threaten Phoenix about losing the case. Phoenix objects, pointing to the fact that the crime hasn't been resolved yet. The judge adjourns for a recess.

Armie comes to see you and confess' about the time she witnesses her father's work. She believes the culprit tries to move her wheelchair away, causing her to panic, in a rush to go back to her room. Believing it's an important point, Armie's Statement has been added to the Court Record. It will be important later on.

Back in the courtroom, Paul pins the crime on Datz. It's a matter of time before everything is lost. Not to mention that Trucy and then Athena have troubled looks on their faces. What could be troubling Phoenix Wright at this moment?

Atishon's Testimony: Datz's Crime[edit]

Paul Atishon-Wimperson
Paul Atishon-Wimperson
Paul Atishon-Wimperson's Testimony
- Datz's Crime -
  1. It was around 11 at night, and I was out on a mobile meet-and-greet around the village.
  2. That's when I saw Dr. Buff being murdered from outside his study window!
  3. Mr. Are'bal snuck up from behind and struck him on the head.
  4. His weapon of choice: a suitcase.
  5. A big, strong man like him could easily swing a heavy suitcase into someone's head.

Datz's Crime: Cross-Examination[edit]

Press the third statement. Your Honor, I believe the witness made an important statement just now about how The doctor was reading a book. New statement added to witness's testimony.

  • The doctor was standing in front of the bookshelves, absorbed in a book.

Present the Doctor's Reading Glasses on the new statement. Apollo mentions that he's gone out, leaving his glasses on the table. Do you have a problem with the proposal that the doctor was struck while nodding off? Select A big problem. This shows the problem with the witness's claim that he saw the doctor nodding off! Present the Study Diagram. Where did the witness view the murder from? Present inside the study. Where was the killer during the crime? Present the part of the hallway above the study that is left of the coffee bar. (I'd say that evidence of the murder occurring at the coffee bar...) Select Exists. Present the book with the coffee stain.

Then Phoenix Wright starts to breakdown. Just as you're about to say something, Athena finally reveals that Maya is being held hostage! Just as all hope is about to be lost, Dhurke steps in to encourage Apollo. Saying "the dragon never yields". So, it's time to think of a way to deal with Phoenix's crisis.

If the legend is true, then we've already solved the riddle, right? Select No, not yet. But how would it be possible for a dead person to return to the world of the living? Select Channeling. Given the facts, in order to solve the riddle and receive the founder's power, I'd need... Select A spirit medium.

Apollo reassures Phoenix that Maya's ok and that Paul is unable to get the orb. Despite Paul's threats, Phoenix resigns as his lawyer. But Paul persists that Datz is still the one who murdered Armie's dad.

I believe this piece of evidence to be connected to the dropping of the suitcase. Present Armie's Statement. Your Honor! The defence's final piece of evidence is on this person! Present Armie Buff.

Even though the suitcase is free of his fingerprint's, the same can't be said about Paul's fingerprints on Armie's wheelchair. After Paul's antic demise, Dhurke retains the right to the orb. Founder's Orb updated in the Court Record.

In the lounge, Armie decides to honour her dad's work. But she show's you that she can stand up from her wheelchair. After that, Phoenix and Edgeworth who also appears tells them of the bad news: Inga has Maya as a hostage and warns if Dhurke doesn't come to the tower alone, Maya might die! So, in short, this isn't over yet.
