Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Pokémon Omega Ruby are 2015 3DS remakes of the popular Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire games on the Game Boy Advance. The remakes feature expanded Hoenn locations, new Mega Evolutions, an enhanced storyline and several new mechanics such as the DexNav and Primal Evolution.

Story[edit]

Like the originals, the games are set in Hoenn, where the player's goal is to capture and train Pokémon into a team capable of collecting eight Gym Badges and becoming the Champion. Along the way, they must defeat a villainous team (Aqua or Magma, depending on if the game is Alpha Sapphire or Omega Ruby, respectively) that threatens to disturb Legendary Pokémon and potentially destroy the world.

Different Pokémon will appear depending on the version of the game, but other than that and the type of villainous team, the differences between the versions are minor.

The games preserve many of the features from Pokémon X and Y, such as Super Training, Pokémon Amie, and Mega Evolutions.
