Walkthrough[edit]

Big Pier is a special kind of park for one reason: none of the land belongs to the park. Instead, the park only has construction rights for a 31 by 31 patch of land underwater except for a small square of it near the entrance. Small space aside, the real challenge is trying to bring 600 guests in a short amount of time as the entrance is far away from the town and you don't have a lot of rides to start with.

An important thing to note is that all rides will be built at height 10, two units above the water. This is to help connect paths to the rides easier since they'll be at the same height. This also means that pathways will cost $32 since they're so high up, so make sure you have some funds left to build queue lines. Moreover, be careful if you have to delete pathways. If a guest walks over a deleted pathway, they'll fall into the water and drown, hurting your park rating.

Open the park and place a Merry-Go-Round somewhere in the middle. The music should lure new customers to go inside. After that, set research to Maximum and discover the Steel Roller Coaster. Next, build a roller coaster. Since you can't edit the land at all or place new scenery items other than the fountain that can be placed on water, you'll have to make your roller coasters go under and over pathways for added excitement. This also means you cannot make tunnels, so you'll need to rely on covered thrill rides like the Motion Simulator when it's pouring. Make sure to keep your coaster as compact as possible so you can have room for more coasters. Once you have two roller coasters built, you should have a surge of new customers.

Go under the pathways for an excitement boost.

Once you hit Year 2, you should have over 300 customers to stay on track. Research more rides to get the Stand-Up Steel Roller Coaster, another roller coaster type that doesn't need to be a complete circuit, as well as the Bumper Cars and the Information Kiosk. There should also be six handymen patrolling the area: one for each corner, one down the center line, and the other across the other center line. Be sure that your food stands are evenly spaced away from each other to ensure nobody gets hungry. Although not difficult, it's imperative to build a bit quicker than usual to bring in more customers. If the park rating stays high, you should have an increase of guests with every new ride you place.
