Seirei Gari (星霊狩り? Ghost Hunter) is a menu-based adventure game developed by Advance Communication Company for the Famicom and published in Japan by Hudson Soft in 1989. The main character Michimune has to rescue his fiancée from the tyrannical ghost Rosencreutz. Michimune travels the world following the ghost's trail, eventually ending up in the legendary land of Shambala.
The game is a traditional Japanese adventure game, where the player uses menu commands to explore their environments and talk to NPCs. In order to proceed, the player must complete puzzles that unlock the path forward. They can receive hints from Professor Kiyojo, an academic that has been studying Rosencreutz who meets Michimune in the hospital once the latter awakens after being defeated and left for dead during the kidnapping.
While the original game never left Japan, it did receive an unofficial fan translation in 2007, along with an addendum in 2013 which fixed a few remaining bugs. That translation can be found here.
