Matsu (Bramble in Devil Kings) is the wife of Toshiie Maeda, and though she can usually be seen acting as a dutiful housewife, come wartime, Matsu will rush out with her katana to fight alongside her husband and his army. Like her husband, Matsu wields some mastery over animals, and is able to call hawks to the battlefield to charge ahead of her. However, most of her moveset, including her normal combo and her Basara attack, are derived from the moveset of Kenshin Uesugi. She also shares her attribute and stats with the skilled swordsman, and while her health is lacking, Kenshin's speed and fighting prowess cannot be understated, making her quite the skilled fighter herself.

Matsu's second, third, and fifth skills are most useful. Her first skill is simply a weaker version of her fifth, and her fourth skill, borrowed from Kenshin's moveset, is slow to start. While her third skill has a recovery time following its use which may leave her vulnerable to enemies, it can quickly knock back any enemies that have approached her, including bombers and horsemen. Her second skill isn't as useful for crowds, but if a boss has been cornered, it can quickly deal a good amount of damage while keeping them cornered. Lastly, Matsu's fifth skill, which she shares with Toshiie, can push dangerous enemies away from her, including powerful crowds and bosses.

A helpful combo is a -string of one to two hits, followed by a skill, such as Comet Thrust or Hawks.
