Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi has five levels. The final screen of every level is the boss. You must hit each boss six times to defeat him. You fight the boss on the third screen of the first four levels, the fifth screen for level five.

The game then continues to Shadow Dancer II when you defeat the final boss. II is exactly the same as Shadow Dancer I except that each boss must be hit eight times.

The game then continues to Shadow Dancer III when you defeat the final boss. III is exactly the same as Shadow Dancer II except that each boss must be hit ten times.
