Rampage is an arcade game, that was released by Bally Midway in 1986; it runs upon their MCR-3 hardware, but without those two General Instrument AY-3-8910s. The players must utilize an 8-way joystick to take control of one of three different monsters, with two buttons to make them punch and jump - George the giant gorilla, Lizzie the giant lizard, and Ralph the giant wolf. They were ordinary humans (until they were mutated, by eating radioactive vitamins, taking a bath in a radioactive lake, and eating a 'scam' sausage respectively); their only goals now are to destroy every city they come across, and this game has 768 days of destruction (this game says "no two are alike", but the cycle repeats five times). They must punch buildings and vehicles to destroy them as well as eat civilians that live in the buildings - but they will constantly be under attack from the U.S. National Guard and can also lose energy by falling from a distance which is greater than their own height, or into water, being hit by lightning, and by eating something "bad", such as cacti, poison, toasters and dynamite. Once one monster runs out of energy, he (or she, in the case of Lizzie) shall de-mutate back into a naked human and slowly walk sideways off the side of the screen; the remaining players shall then have the chance to eat him (or her), for 500 extra points, and a common headline for that following day's newspaper will be "EX-MUTANT IS ARRESTED FOR STREAKING!" if he or she is uneaten. Another, less common headline on this occasion is "LAB SCREW-UP WEARS OFF...FILM AT 11".
