Welcome to all users! This page is where you can ask StrategyWiki-related questions to the staff and senior community figures, and they will do their best to answer. If you want to raise a topic for discussion (rather than just ask about it), please use the community issues forum instead. New issues are entered here, with the most recent at the bottom of the page. If your question does not pertain to editing StrategyWiki (e.g. asking for hints or game-specific information), please ask on the guide's talk page or on the forums.

Please review the Table of Contents to see if your issue has already been raised; also check the archives (to the right) in case it was discussed some time ago.

To facilitate ease of browsing and replying, please:

  1. Place your question at the bottom of the list.
  2. Title the question (by placing the title between equals signs: ==Title==).
  3. Sign your name and date (by adding four tildes: ~~~~).

Address verification email was never received

I signed up the other day, but I never received the email to verify my address. Is that working properly? I've tried resending it twice now, but no luck.

  • I've double-checked my email address; it's correct.
  • No, it's not in my spam folder.
  • My email is Gmail-hosted, so I'm sure it's not getting wrongly rejected.

What gives? Can an admin check it out? --JimTheta (talk) 22:28, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

Please check now. -- Prod (talk) 14:27, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
I got mails from all 3 of my attempts now. Looks like you solved it for me. Hopefully the problem is solved site-wide. Thanks. --JimTheta (talk) 15:45, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Yea, the mail sending process had stopped. I started it back up and it processed everything that was pending. Thanks for the heads up! -- Prod (talk) 15:47, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
Prod, ever considered setting up a Cron to manually reboot services that get stuck like this? Some time in the early morning is probably safest. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 22:40, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
Cron is the one having problems :). Got something in the works that should handle all of this. -- Prod (talk) 00:54, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Image requests

We need additional Sega Saturn {{SS}} control buttons for L, R, and Start. We also need a non-hold version of the cade button for Down, then Up: Arcade-Stick-CDU.png. If anyone can help with those I would really appreciate it. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:13, 19 November 2014 (UTC)

Diff change text padding cutting off bottom 10% of each line

Has anyone noticed this CSS glitch in Dolphin? When you go to a diff with a block of text, it will be hard to see the bottom of commas, g's, q's, or anything under the bottom line. I've narrowed it down to "td.diff-addedline .diffchange, td.diff-deletedline .diffchange". I am going to make the change to fix it. I tested and it is an issue in IE11, Firefox 33.1.1, and Chrome 39.0.2171.65 m. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:27, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Fixed. Yay! This is something that has been bugging my eyes when patrolling diffs since I switched to Dolphin. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:05, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Possible virus on site

When I logged onto the site earlier, a Norton Antivirus message appeared in the bottom-right corner of my screen, saying it was analyzing a file called "vip_117(1).swf" before saying it was not safe and has been removed, though I do not know how it is physically possible to enter malicious coding into a Macromedia Flash Player file (and do not want to); am I the only one to have experienced this today, or has anybody else who are with Norton Antivirus experienced it as well? If not, I fear for what would have happened to those without any antivirus protection...! Namcorules (talk) 17:30, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

That could mean one of our ad providers is hosting a malicious ad. If you see this come up again, can you take a screenshot of the ad? -- Prod (talk) 03:20, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
