Disappearing images

Are the Nidoran female and male images disappearing after the pages finish loading for anyone else? They seem to be visible until the transparency kicks in. This also happens for me on the pages for those specific images.

Here is a page for an example: Route 2 & 22 --Zaiqukaj 09:54, 2 February 2008 (CST)

Seems OK for me on firefox. What browser are you using?--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 11:12, 2 February 2008 (CST)
More importantly, what character encoding are you using? Because these two images use the male/female symbols in them, perhaps it's causing an issue with character coding discrepancies. Check to make sure that your browser is in utf-8, as that's what this site is encoded in. --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 13:36, 2 February 2008 (CST)
Nvm, just checked the page in Interwebz Exploder 6, and (surprise!) it exploded! (if you can't tell, I abhor IE). Anyway, it appears to be some sort of glitch with the javascript that fixes transparency on the page, it must not be detecting something correctly. Try getting firefox :) --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 13:41, 2 February 2008 (CST)
I have no idea if SW does any testing in different browsers or if there is any priority in it (it is something I like to look out for). This was an amusing little glitch and I thought it would be fun to share, that is all. :P --Zaiqukaj 02:54, 3 February 2008 (CST)

First lesson.

When I was sifting through to see the difference between the PS2 and GC Medal of Honor storylines, this guide came out and surprised me. The most interesting is the button controls when I check on the positives so the first lesson I want to learn is if I'm going to put in the button and control stick icons how that work? What buttons go to PC, GC, PS2 etc. Teach me this first thing and I'll take it from there. Hopefullr you can keep the explanation as simple as possible due to my new start in this world. Check out these pages: {{kbd}} and {{mouse}} (for PC), {{gc}} (for GameCube), and {{psx}} (for all Playstation consoles) --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 11:36, 3 February 2008 (CST)

TOC Rappelz

Hi,

I want to change the ToC of Rappelz [1], but it seems to be locked. Suggested changes:

  1. "Quests" in missing in the ToC, the page is currently [2]. The walkthrough link from the ToC becomes available for a to-be-made walkthrough.
  2. "Monsters" in missing in the ToC, the page is currently [3].
  3. "NPCs" (or "People") in missing in the ToC, the page is currently [4].
  4. Under "Maps" a bullet "Locations" is missing , the page is currently not existing.
  5. "Loot" and "Cards" can be combined to "Items". Keep the existing bullets.

thx, 01110011 10:21, 10 February 2008 (CST)

The ToC is not locked. Simply edit Rappelz/Table of Contents to change it. --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 12:53, 10 February 2008 (CST)
You're right, I found my way. Thanks. 01110011 14:00, 10 February 2008 (CST)

Multiple Uploads

Has anyone being experiencing problems with the multiple upload form. Earlier today I used it to upload some images and the stuff I added (including the image categories) in the summary section didn't come through when I uploaded the images. Is that meant to happen? Because I had to go through each individual image and re-add the categories. If this problem could be fixed please do it. Thanks.Sims2Guy 23:52, 15 February 2008 (CST)

Yeah, this is a known problem already. This should be fixed soon. --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 10:01, 16 February 2008 (CST)
Is there also a problem with the update form? I tried to update [[Image:Khcom traversemap1.png]], and it worked, but the updates picture only shows up on the page it is being called by, not the page that you can view it normally as.Angel14995
You need to clear your cache (Ctrl+F5 should work for most browsers). GarrettTalk 16:54, 20 February 2008 (CST)
Thanks, now it works fine. Angel14995 14:04, 21 February 2008 (CST)

Footer clarification

Hello all (again)-

I am working on the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories guide, and have edited the ToC to the game along with the first level. When I changed the ToC, I put which of the character's stories the game was following (Sora or Riku) as the 2nd part of the page name (ex. [[Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories/Sora/Traverse Town]]). Now when I am working on the footer, the link from World Card Set 1 to Traverse Town in the footer works fine, but not vice versa. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Angel14995 16:00, 20 February 2008 (CST)

That is because Traverse Town is set up as a redirect to the correct page. When declaring prevpage and nextpage, you need to make sure that it is Sora/Pagename and not just Pagename to get it to link properly (and then use prevname and nextname to prettify the names of the links). --  Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 17:58, 20 February 2008 (CST)
You can check the page now for an example of what Skizzers was saying as I've fixed the FN on it. -- Prod (Talk) 21:00, 20 February 2008 (CST)
Thanks Ryan and Prod. I have never seen those possible syntax, but I'll be sure to use them. Angel14995 14:03, 21 February 2008 (CST)

Flash Game Inclusion Decision - Acno's Energizer

The guide for Acno's Energizer has existed for almost as long as StrategyWiki itself. From personal experience, I can attest that this game can become quite difficult in the later levels. Therefore, considering most of the content is already written and I'd rather not proceed with cleanup until a decision is made, I vote for inclusion. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 05:00, 26 February 2008 (CST)

Its revision history stretches back quite a while but it was only imported into StrategyWiki at the end of last year as part of continuing Wikibooks cleanup. As for its inclusion I'm not sure either way; we never did agree on an official set of rules of inclusion. I think it's better to return to the inclusion issue as a whole and get something sorted before questioning the inclusion of individual games. GarrettTalk 14:58, 27 February 2008 (CST)

Editing Completion Stages

I wanted to make sure it was OK to edit the completion stage of a guide I've been working on (more specifically, writing the entire walkthrough). The game is Star Wars: Battlefront and I recently finished the walkthrough. Would it be appropriate for me to change it from completion stage 1 to completion stage 3 and remove the "stub" tag? --MaestroFergus 22:40, 27 February 2008 (CST)

The num parameter is up to you to change. If someone disagrees, they can change it back. The stub tag on the other hand relates purely to the front page, which is very short. It will need to be expanded a bit before the stub tag can be removed. -- Prod (Talk) 22:47, 27 February 2008 (CST)
