Tony Hawk's Pro Skater has ten levels altogether: five regular levels, three competition levels, and two secret levels. The regular levels have a checklist of goals for your skater to earn money: three high scores, collecting SKATE letters and unique objects, a custom goal made for the level, finding a gap or set of gaps, doing a specified trick at a location, and searching for the secret tape. In addition, there is money that can be collected and finding every bill, along with beating every other goal, is required to clear the checklist.
The competition levels have medals to earn as well as cash prizes. Your skater gets three single-minute sessions to earn as many points as possible. When the session is over, five judges will give scores on a 100-point scale with the lowest and highest scores removed and the remaining three averaged into the final score. After all three sessions, the lowest-scoring session is removed and remaining two are added. The top three receive a medal and cash prize. Competition levels also have hidden cash icons to collect.
To beat Career Mode, your skater has to place 3rd or better in the final competition at Bullring. You'll get a bail video for getting all medals and a skater video for getting all gold medals. Beating career mode multiple times will also unlock secret characters as well as cheats.
