I was supporting your idea for board game and other guides.--Filthy swine 13:17, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Ya, I know. I just felt that I needed to clarify myself for others.--Dukeruckley 13:21, 7 June 2006 (PDT)

Roger. My main priority right now is trying to flesh out the FF6 guide, and then I'm going to throw some help in on the FFT one. FFT is one of my favorite games.

Hey, do you think you could add [[Category:Earthbound Images]] to the enemy images that you upload? It helps keep all the images together and organized. Also, where are you getting your sprites? I'd like to keep them all the same scale, so if you aren't already, upload them from here, and preferably keep their naming scheme. Its just so if we do enemy lists and things like that, we can do it without having to find the names of all the enemy sprites again. --blendmaster 10:44, 15 June 2006 (PDT)

Sure thing, that makes sense... I like the larger size better, I just didn't know about that website. I'll go back and change the other images.--Dukeruckley 10:51, 15 June 2006 (PDT)

ISO GTA:SA writers

Hi Duke, thanks for your tip. Is the GTA:SA project pretty stale? I'm having trouble finding any who contributes to it besides myself. I have some ideas for it but I'd like to talk to the people who care most about it Sympleko 12:56, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

To follow up with my ideas: I feel like the GTA:SA guide should be less like a wikibook and more like an encyclopedia. There should be a page for each vehicle indicating its various specifications, where/how you can find it (especially if it's a special vehicle like the Rhino), and what it's good for. A mission page that mentions the Rhino can just link to that page for details on how to get )it.

You can have pages for locations, too, especially the ones that house minigames, or are based oon real-life buildings, or are properties CJ can buy. Maybe this makes for short pages but I don't think that's so bad.

I also think that directories below GTA:SA aren't needed. Can't categories be used instead? Then you don't need a list page for all the cars, say; the Category page will create the index page and paginate it. Articles can be categorized more than once, so a car page can be marked as a car and as a sedan. If you need to distinguish between, say, OG Loc the character and OG Loc the mission, you can use parentheses like they do in Wikipedia: [[OG Loc (Character)/]]. Mission Pages can be categorized by as missions, and also by their locations, and also by what stage of the game they occur (for instance, there are Officer Tenpenny missions in all the cities throughout the game). Contents pages aren't necessary, either, except for maybe one for the mission walkthroughs.

Right now there's not too many pages under GTA:SA and there are few links betwwen them besides navigational ones. So if such a refactoring were to be me made, now would be the time. I know SA is not a current game but maybe such work can be rationalized as an investment into learning how to make a really stellar GTAIV site. The potential is there to be much more than an open-source gamefaqs.

I'm new to guidewriting and come from a wikipedia backgournd, which is all probably reflected in what I just said. Does it make sense and is it a good idea?

It's getting late and I'm going to bed. Take care. Sympleko 21:58, 3 July 2006 (PDT)

Image renaming

I've finished and tested the code in my bot to rename images, and I've just run it through the list you gave me. For some reason, it didn't find any links to any of the images you listed – which makes me think that part of the code is broken – so you might have to clean up some broken image references on some pages. :-( Just leave a message on my talk page if you need any more done. --DrBob (Talk) 13:34, 14 July 2006 (CDT)

Cleanup project

You've been doing a lot of housecleaning tasks recently, and I thought that maybe you'd like to formalise your participation in such mundane tasks (chain yourself to them forever :-P ) by putting yourself down as part of the cleanup project? --DrBob (Talk) 11:14, 18 July 2006 (CDT)

Haha, didn't even know about that... I'm adding myself now!--DukeRuckley 11:16, 18 July 2006 (CDT)

Boilerplate text

If you come up with some standard text for something somebody's done wrong (e.g. here where he wasn't naming images properly) to put on their talk pages, could you add it to the StrategyWiki:Cleanup project/Boilerplate text page so that we can use it again? Of course, it'll need to be standardised and de-personalised, but it would save some time later. Cheers. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 13:22, 25 July 2006 (CDT)

I was planning on it eventually, just haven't gotten around to doing it yet :)--DukeRuckley 13:24, 25 July 2006 (CDT)

Potential significant change, could use input and later assistance.

I started a discussion on making a pretty substantial change to Template:Tl and I thought I'd let you know about the discussion in case you were interested or wanted to help with the change if it was supported. link. Oh, and if you know someone who would want to help out/discuss this who's talk page I didn't leave it on, if you could let them know, that'd be useful, thanks. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:00, 16 February 2007 (CST)

Ryan's rfa

Your comment would be more likely to be noticed if it was on the page specifically for his rfa discussion, thanks! -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 22:00, 3 March 2007 (CST)

Hi, is there any problem of me taking screenshots of this YouTube video to put on the site?--Rocky http://media.strategywiki.org/images/thumb/7/78/Rally-X_Rock.png/25px-Rally-X_Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 11:24, 28 May 2007 (CDT)

Thanks for the link, I'm done now and they're in the article. What do you think?--Rocky http://media.strategywiki.org/images/thumb/7/78/Rally-X_Rock.png/25px-Rally-X_Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 12:35, 28 May 2007 (CDT)
I just noticed the copyright notice on their site, we're not allowed any of it :(--Rocky http://media.strategywiki.org/images/thumb/7/78/Rally-X_Rock.png/25px-Rally-X_Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 12:45, 28 May 2007 (CDT)

Final Fantasy VI/Table of Contents

Are the chapters actually named that, or are those simply what happens during the time? I was suggesting moving Chapter x to Chapter x: section name so that the FNs on each page could be simplified. -- Prod (Talk) 09:43, 4 August 2007 (CDT)

re: Welcome Back

Thanks! I got caught up in several projects on other sites and that perpetual distraction known as real life.

Things are looking good here; I can see lots of improvements have been made this year. Koweja 19:07, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

LttP Screenies

Don't bother, but I was wondering what version you are playing (emulation, SNES, GBA) since you offered to take them. --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 11:08, 19 August 2007 (CDT)

LttP edits

I would agree with you that LttP should be available to users to edit, but I'm concerned with new users who make edits to the format, and not the content. That's basically someone saying, "I simply prefer if the guide looks like this," without contributing something meaningful. I will try to provide better explanations to new users from now on. Thanks for your note. Procyon (Talk) 11:07, 27 August 2007 (CDT)

Template:Tl

Um, not quite sure why you edited it like that, so I'll outline it's usage to you. Substitute the template into a user talk page with {{subst:Vandalism warning|{{{1}}}}}, with {{{1}}} being the name of the page that they vandalized (not in link format, as it automatically links it). Of course, if you are unsure if an edit is vandalism, you may want to use Template:Tl instead (same usage). --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 22:15, 27 August 2007 (CDT)

Sorry, it's just that when I was browsing through recent changes, I only saw your edit to the template, I didn't see the user talk page edits at all (until, of course, AFTER I made that comment >.<). Let's just say it was a long day for everyone... --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 08:21, 28 August 2007 (CDT)
