Misplaced sig

Thanks for cleaning that up on my page. I usually only look at diff's and didn't notice that at the time :P -- Prod (Talk) 23:02, 26 January 2007 (CST)

My pleasure. --Notmyhandle 00:06, 27 January 2007 (CST)
Yeah I saw that and I have no clue how it got there. >< --Antaios 07:24, 27 January 2007 (CST)

Testing

No, I was testing PHP's safe mode (which makes the PHP installation supposedly more secure.) It works with StrategyWiki, but not ABXY.--Dan 21:50, 27 January 2007 (CST)

Deleting pages

If you need a page deleted, mark it with the {{delete}} tag. -- Prod (Talk) 11:57, 4 February 2007 (CST)

Sir yes sir! --Notmyhandle 12:01, 4 February 2007 (CST)

Sonic the Hedgehog Badniks

Actually, I didn't write the content for that page. Supremesonic did, I just reformatted some of it. So I'm not sure what he meant by translation. You'd have to ask him. Procyon 17:41, 5 February 2007 (CST)

Wikipedia link

I don't think we need to add a wikipedia link to all the pages. Only pages with minimal (stub) info. We're trying to break away from wikipedia, and use it as a resource, not as a crutch. My opinion is that wp links should go either in external links, or nowhere at all. This isn't really policy, but a suggestion. -- 09:06, 8 February 2007 (CST)

Potential significant change, could use input and later assistance.

I started a discussion on making a pretty substantial change to Template:Tl and I thought I'd let you know about the discussion in case you were interested or wanted to help with the change if it was supported. link. Oh, and if you know someone who would want to help out/discuss this who's talk page I didn't leave it on, if you could let them know, that'd be useful, thanks. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:00, 16 February 2007 (CST)

1080° Avalanche

As a suggestion, you might want to split it up so that there is one page per level, and have all the strategies for the level on the page. It seems that the walkthrough pages for each mode might get rather long this way. -- Prod (Talk) 14:22, 17 February 2007 (CST)

Yeah I understand, that's a better plan than what I have now, although it does lead to spoilers... And plus, with the ToC at the top length doesn't matter because you're going to look up the course anyways, not just like follow steps (like in Time Trial you can just choose your course). So you see, I think mine is actually better, and look, Move Lists/Capcom/CVS2 is much bigger in comparison. --Notmyhandle 19:12, 17 February 2007 (CST)
I hope that's sarcasm, because otherwise your argument is confusing. Although the move lists would benefit from splitting up, the content is already there, everything is linked, and would be a pain to change. This guide on the other hand is just starting. Long toc's are annoying to navigate, and wikipedia discourages them. I haven't played the game, so what kinds of spoilers are there? -- Prod (Talk) 20:06, 17 February 2007 (CST)
The only spoiler is the extreme mode of courses; since they are unlocked after expert is completed. I guess its not a big deal since they will reach lower on the ToC than the first three difficulty courses. --Notmyhandle 21:02, 17 February 2007 (CST)

IRC

Do you have it? -- Prod (Talk) 23:57, 20 February 2007 (CST)

Yup, I'll meet you in the SW channel. --Notmyhandle 00:07, 21 February 2007 (CST)
Where would this be? -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 09:54, 21 February 2007 (CST)
irc.dsmeet.com#strategywiki, I think. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 11:40, 21 February 2007 (CST)
[1]. But you're a few hours late ;). -- Prod (Talk) 11:52, 21 February 2007 (CST)
That's fine, just curious for future reference. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 14:05, 21 February 2007 (CST)
Make sure you join #Strategywiki and not ##Strategywiki or some other channel. --Notmyhandle 17:47, 21 February 2007 (CST)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl collaboration

Hey Notmyhandle, would you like to help out with the Super Smash Bros. Brawl guide when the game comes out. We're working on making it a large collaboration and would be enthusiastic if you could lend support. Check out this community issues section to learn more and put your name here to volunteer. If you know anybody else that would be willing to volunteer, please put a message on their talk page. --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 18:25, 22 February 2007 (CST)

I saw the issue; I lack the means but yes I will be helping as much as I can, I also agree that it's a good way to boost popularity. --Notmyhandle 18:38, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Nintendo Power

You say you get Nintendo Power? I just started subscribing! NP is how I found out about Lunar Knights! (One heck of an awesome game) Lunar Knight 22:01, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Sadly I don't have a subscription at the moment, but I have like two or three years worth of issues in my home somewhere. Might as well get one, I miss it, and yeah a lot of games come to my home through magazine publicity. --Notmyhandle 22:07, 22 February 2007 (CST)

Chrono Trigger/Techniques

No offense, but the toc could use some cleanup, it's somewhat hard to figure it out (the main headers are hard to distinguish from the section headers). -- Prod (Talk) 17:12, 24 February 2007 (CST)

Templates

Default values for templates can be set using {{{variablename|default value}}} (where default value can be blank). -- Prod (Talk) 17:20, 27 February 2007 (CST)

Oh... --Notmyhandle 17:23, 27 February 2007 (CST)
Try not to put === headers in templates, it completely messes up the edit links on pages that use them. -- Prod (Talk) 15:39, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Delicate subject

Hi Notmyhandle. I was trying to think of way to send you this message so that it wouldn't be quite so public, but without any other way to contact you, I figured it would be best to do it here. Basically, just highlight the text below to read it. Procyon 10:34, 1 March 2007 (CST)

OK, this is a little uncomfortable for me to do, but I've sort of been chosen as the representative. Please understand that I think deep down, you're a great guy, that you really care about the success of SW, and that your guide contributions are among the best that the site receives. However, there is a growing concern on the part of the other admins about your attitude. On occasion, your responses are seen as rude and immature at best, and abrasive and insulting at the worst. One example is when you left this comment on Echelon's talk page: I thought you just said you did it... what did you mean by "Done"!? It's things like that that make it very difficult for other people to want to work with you. Another was when you said to Mason: Me likes, but Mason, cmon, sign your posts, at least hit the little button! I realize that you were saying something positive in the beginning, but the ending comes across as so patronizing that it defeats the purpose.

I understand that you have strong feelings about the way that you think things should work around here, but when you present that to people the way you have in the past, you come off as being very intolerant, and inconsiderate. I'm only telling you this so that you can be aware of it, and hopefully use this knowledge to work on some of your interpersonal skills within the community. The next time you leave a comment for someone else to read, please take a moment and really consider how the person receiving the comment might take it, or how it will make them feel. Ask yourself if what you're about to tell them is really necessary, or is it something that you may not exactly like, but you can let go. I would really like to see you become a more accepted member of this community and I think that you totally can. But you need to start being more considerate of other members, and tone down the attitude a bit. Try to make the shift from ordinary criticism, to constructive criticism. Anyway, I'm sorry if any of this upset you, I hope that it didn't. But the ball is in your court to make a change. You can delete this and remove it, or move it somewhere else so that no one else reads it, it's your call. Catch you later. -- Procyon

That comment on Ech was interpreted wrong Proc. If that was copy and pasted here than it was my mistake but he said Done! and I wanted it quoted as "Done!", my inquiry was what was done, not an outburst of WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO. I apologize for the misunderstanding. And yes I have had one or two other actual instances of bad behavior. I should know better than to bring that to a community such as this, again, I'm sorry.

Anyways, yeah, I'll be more discreet in whatever ways necessary from now on. I apologize, I love SW and all of the members who work together. --Notmyhandle 10:41, 1 March 2007 (CST)
