Spells

	Healing	40	20	Use this spell to cure your wounds and restore your HP. The amount of HP restored will be one of two values. Roughly 75% of the time, it will restore 24 + Max MP / 4 hit points of damage. The remaining 25% of the time, you will regain 24 + Max MP / 8 points. Proper use of the Healing spell can save your from dying, as well as save you lots of money at hotels.
	Fireball	60	5	The Fireball spell is the cheapest of all spells. When cast, it travels in a straight line in whatever direction the Valkyrie was facing when cast. Upon a majority of enemies, it does 8 + Max MP / 4 points of damage. Against the larger "boss" enemies, as well as the Black Sandra and Tundra enemies, it does far less: 1 + Max MP / 32.
	True Sight	80	10	The spell of True Sight allows you to see any hidden item that is currently invisible in the viewable portion of the map, whether you are above ground, or below. This can be useful to find items hidden in forests, in the water, or in the dungeons. Many items that you would ordinarily have to spend your hard earned money to obtain can be found for free if you know where to look.
	Invisibility	120	15	By casting the spell of invisibility, the Valkyrie will become as transparent as glass to the enemies for about six seconds. The enemy will be in a state of confusion over the whereabouts of their target. This does not mean that the Valkyrie will become impervious to their attacks. If an enemy identifies the location of the Valkyrie, it can harm her. This spell can be extremely useful to help the Valkyrie escape dangerous situations.
	Star Flute	160	32	The spell of the Star Flute emits an eerie melody that freezes all enemies in their tracks for a limited period of time (about 6 seconds). Frozen enemies are unable to attack you, even if you stand directly next to them. Enemies which are scrolled off the screen during this time will not return when you scroll back if the spell is still functioning. In this manner, you can use this spell to remove particularly strong and dangerous enemies.
	Antidote	200	20	Once you learn the spell of the antidote, you'll never need to rely on physical antidote potions to remove the effects of poison. Of course, you must have enough MP to cast the spell, but by the time you learn it, you will have a pretty good supply.
	Lightning	240	50	The ultimate spell, the spell of lightning takes the longest to learn, and costs the most MP to cast. When you use it, every enemy present on the screen at the time will take damage that ranges anywhere from 32 to 95 HP, determined at random for each unique individual. This is enough to destroy most of the weaker common enemies and substantially damage the stronger ones. The cost of the spell makes it impractical to use very often, so save it for emergencies when it can make the difference in a large battle.

Items

While some items are obtained from shops by exchanging gold for your purchase, many items are obtained for free from treasure chests like the one shown to the right. However, you'll need a key in order to open them, or their contents will remain a mystery.

Axes

Both axes deal exactly 8 HP of damage to enemies if used as a weapon.
