9-Volt & 18-Volt's games are unlocked by beating James T.'s boss stage in story mode. Their Retro Action games all revolve around classic Nintendo titles given a twist on the touch screen, and involve many different styles of movement.

In the story (Games) mode, you will be presented with a selection of ten randomly-picked microgames from the below list, followed by the boss stage (Gunslinger). Beat both Mike's and 9-Volt & 18-Volt's boss stages to unlock Wario-Man's games and to receive one of the Toys.

Once you have beaten 9-Volt & 18-Volt's boss stage, picking them again in story mode will present you with a repeating cycle of ten randomly-picked games followed by the boss stage, the time limit reducing every few stages, for you to see how far you can progress. If you score over 30 points you will receive another Toy.

Each time you play a new microgame in story mode, you will unlock it in Album mode. Album mode allows you to practice a particular game over and over with a reducing time limit, as a repeating cycle of the three difficulty levels, to see how high you can score. Each microgame in Album mode has a score to beat in order to 'pass' that game (given below). Unlock all the games in Album mode to give 9-Volt & 18-Volt a silver crown. Beat the pass score in all the games to give 9-Volt & 18-Volt a gold crown.

Super Mario Bros.

Grab [number] coins!

Bump the blocks to get some coins! Don't forget the hidden blocks!

Tap on question mark blocks to get coins. Certain bricks that look slightly different also give coins if tapped. Higher levels require you to obtain more coins.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

The Legend of Zelda

Catch!

Grab the fairies!

Tap on the fairies to complete the game. Higher levels require you to catch more fairies on a crowded screen - Look for anything that is rapidly different to the norm.

Score 25 points to pass in Album mode.

Duck Hunt

Shoot!

Gun down anything that flies!

Tap on the flying discs to blow them up - It's possible to still hit them when they are in the horizon. Higher levels feature more discs.

Score 15 points to pass in Album mode.

Metroid

Detach!

Pull those things off her head!

Grab the Metroid with the stylus and hold on to it until time runs out. Higher levels feature more Metroids - flick them off constantly until the time runs out to succeed.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Game & Watch Toss Up

Juggle!

Grab the hands and move 'em to keep the balls in the air.

Drag the flashing red hands to where the ball will fall to succeed. Higher levels feature more balls, requiring you to constantly move the hands.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Pushing Buttons

Press!

Flip and spin the game system to find the right button, and then press it!

Look on the top screen for the button to press and then do so on the bottom screen. Later levels require you to drag the console to spin it around, You only need to press the button from any point or angle to pass, so there's no need for deadly accuracy.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Mario Paint

Paint!

Finish the ugly painting!

Color in all the required area to pass, not missing a single part. Higher levels have bigger areas that need coloring.

Score 10 points to pass in Album mode.

Game On

Shut it! Plug it in! Set up! Play!

Plug in, turn on, and start playing!

Drag the objects to their correct positions to complete the game. It doesn't matter what controller port the pad is plugged into, nor which order the tasks are completed. Higher levels require you to complete more tasks.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

8-Bit Hero

Find the difference!

Look at both pictures and tap the pixel that's different!

Look for obvious differences first, and if they cannot be seen quickly contrast the pictures on the top and bottom screen to find the solution. Higher levels feature more pixels to search through.

Score 10 points to pass in Album mode.

Game & Watch Flagman

Remember!

Pay attention to the order that the flags are waved, and then repeat it!

The order is shown slowly and is not difficult to remember - Simply tap it in order. Higher levels require you to remember more flags.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Gold Digger

Pick!

Push the button to dig for gold! Ooooh, that's a big one!

Take your time and then hit the flashing red button when the finger is in the correct position - A high level of accuracy is required. Level two is a bigger finger, level three features two fingers which each must fit up one nostril.

Score 15 points to pass in Album mode.

Super Mario Bros.

Stomp!

Poke your foes!

Normal and flying Koopa Troopas need to be tapped more than once to send their shells into a pit - The only true way of beating them in this game. Large amounts of enemies, or those who cannot be beaten by tapping them, can also be beaten by these shells. Higher levels feature more enemies.

Score 25 points to pass in Album mode.

Button Masher

Fire! Shatter! Beat him down!

Tap the A Button to issue an 8-bit beatdown!

Constantly tap on the flashing button on the first level game to complete it. On the second level, only tap when the obstacle is near you. On the third level, you must time your punches on the opponent for when his face flashes.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Game & Watch Oil Panic

Catch!

Catch the leaking oil in your bucket! You can use it later to fry me up something greasy!

Drag the flashing character so his bucket is underneath the oil drip. Higher levels feature more drips you have to catch.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Clawing for More

Grab!

Pull the claw handles together to stretch the arm and grab the ball! Fear the claw!

Pull the flashing joints towards each other to reach the ball, then pull them back. Higher levels feature bombs the claw arms must avoid.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Donkey Kong 3

Blow the ape to the top!

Blow into the microphone until Donkey Kong is forced to the top of the screen. Higher levels feature swinging ropes, but can still be completed in the same manner.

Score 15 points to pass in Album mode.

Balloon Fight

Shoot 'em down!

Tap enemy balloon riders to make 'em crash and burn, but don't hit the dude with the red balloon!

Quickly tap the balloons only to pop them and win the game. Higher levels feature more balloons to pop, while level three features a character with a red balloon that must be ignored.

Score 20 points to pass in Album mode.

Hogan's Alley

Shoot thugs!

Grease the goons! You better spare the innocent hostages, too.

Tap on the cardboard thugs (Holding guns, dressed in black etc.) to defeat them, while avoiding the lady in pink. Higher levels feature more thugs to shoot.

Score 25 points to pass in Album mode.

Game & Watch Lion

Cage 'em!

Lions may be ferocious, but they can't stand up to the awesome power of a...chair.

The movements of the lion are fairly random, so sharp reactions are needed. Drag the flashing man to near where the lion will try to escape. Higher levels feature more lions and escape attempts.

Score 10 points to pass in Album mode.

Famicom

Wwto-icon-mouth.png Destroy! Turn up the volume! Knock down!

I ordered this weird old game system from Japan. It has a microphone built into the controller. Blow into it to crush the enemies!

One blow into the microphone is enough to beat level one. Level two can be beaten with numerous blows. In level 3 you must drag the volume switch to the right before blowing into the microphone. Watch out for levels which require you to be silent.

Score 25 points to pass in Album mode.

Boss stage: Gunslinger

Shoot!

Shoot the cans to the bins. I can't be bothered to carry 'em there.

The first section involves tapping small cans to juggle them over to the left bins. On levels one and two this can easily be done by keeping them near the top, but on level three they must be kept slightly lower in order to enter an open bin. The second section of the game involves tapping large cans constantly in oder to destroy them, which can be done fairly easier. Higher levels feature more cans to juggle and destroy.
