Part 1[edit]
This stage scrolls downward, with enemies approaching from the bottom. There are also turrets on the walls, which will also attack. However, they will stop shooting when they reach the half-way point. First powerup is for speed, approaching in the middle. The second powerup, for protection, appears on the left. The laser weapon appears a while after the walls approach the middle, followed by a missile powerup.
The tunnel will eventually widen (with hands at the extreme futilly trying to grab you) before reaching the boss. This boss follows a simple pattern by travelling in circles, and firing a spread shot when it reaches the edge. The shot pattern is fixed, and thus you can easily learn a path (or uncovered area) to get clear shots at it as it circles around.
Some stray shots do appear in the upper corners. Even if they appear to be good firing spots, you may have to dodge the attacks.
Part 2[edit]
The main threat in this half-stage are the turrets lining the walls. While they can be destroyed, they shoot enough bullets in a constrained area to cause problems. Taking out one of the left-hand turrets will generally give enough breathing room, but don't be too close to them when you do that.
Upon breaking the first wall, you will have to dodge fire from four turrets. Hang back at the top, and wait for them to stop firing. When they do, head to the bottom of the screen, taking out the eyes that move upward. You should end up aligned with the green enemy, which you should take out quickly.
After the green enemy is a speed powerup, and a second set of turrets. Like the previous set, hang back when they start shooting, and wait until they stop. Unlike the previous turrets, you should be more cautious when advancing.
When you see the spore, shoot it, but move forward on the left-hand side: a hand will try grabbing you from the right. You can destroy the hand, but it's easier to navigate around it.
On the third set of turrets, it's best to hang left, dodging bullets as necessary. The enemy that crawls up will remain on the right, allowing you to pass.
After the turrets is a hand that tries grabbing you, along with a green turret. You may either take out the green enemy, or squeeze past it. Also, watch for a protect powerup after this enemy, although you may have difficulty collecting it due to the upcoming turrets.
A fourth set of turrets appear. As with the other turrets, wait until they stop firing before trying to pass. This is then followed by a green ball, and a hand from the right-hand side. The corridor will then center.
After the hand should be a green ball. If you can get to it and destroy it, you should have access to a ball powerup coming soon. This is followed by a final row of turrets before the boss.
This boss fires three bullets in a spread pattern, and is assisted by fixed turrets. With the fixed firing pattern, there are plenty of dead zones that you can use to wait. The weak point is the eye at the bottom, which should be exposed when the red shots are near the top of the screen. The best deadzone to use is directly right of the upper-left turret, where you get a clear shot of the eye without having to move.
