This final stage borrows the appearance of the second stage and stage 4-2, but it is comparatively smaller. Just like the last stage, you will be attacked by a group of flying skulls as soon as you arrive, so move as soon as you can. Just like in stage 4-2, you will have to navigate through a series of small corridors marked with disappearing quicksand funnels. Time your approach through them carefully. Many of the buildings that surround you will block your attempt to attack the enemies that attack you, so try to maneuver around them so that you can get the best shot and eliminate your enemies quickly before they have a chance to shoot at you.

Once you're beyond the buildings, you will enter a region of alternating rows of Triceratops and quicksand funnels. A few other enemies will appear at the beginning and the end, but in the middle, the only other enemy that you have to worry about are the resurrecting purple skeletons. For this reason, your best defense is actually no offense. If you hit them, they will fall to the ground and continue to shoot at you, so don't make them stick around any longer than necessary. The safest place for you to remain in is actually the far sides of the screen. In many cases, you can safely walk behind the Triceratops, and even some quicksand funnels. Once you reach the far side of this region, you only have two more Triceratops to beware of. The little alcove on the far side before the boss chamber entrance has a pot with a Meat tile in it to restore your health before you fight the boss.

Boss[edit]

The final boss of the game is a gigantic insect which has the unique ability to summon smaller versions of itself into battle. It will bounce back and forth along the top half of the stage and shoot fire at you intermittently. The smaller insects float down the left and right sides of the room, waiting until they reach your vertical height, loop around once, and then fly across the screen. Your best bet is to lure them in high, and then drop back down and shoot them as they fly overhead. Concentrate as much fire as you can on the giant bug. On occasion, it will split up into two bugs, bouncing along with a mirror image of itself. Either image is invincible to attack during this phase, so you must wait until it recombines before you can harm it any further.

Once you defeat this boss, the game continues again from Stage 1 at an even higher degree of difficulty. There is no true ending to this game, it only gets harder and harder. With each new level of difficulty, the enemies fire sooner and more frequently, presenting a greater challenge for you to dodge all of their bullets if you do not dispose of them quickly enough.
