The Assault objectives are:

  • A: Capture the pilot (marked as P on the map)
  • B: Prepare and destroy the Blackhawk helicopter (marked as BH on the map)

Head north to the courtyard to find the pilot, or south to the helicopter. When on Assault, remember that Defense can get to the choke points faster than you can. There is no such thing as a guaranteed win, especially when the opposing team is made up of humans. Humans adapt, sometimes doing crazy and stupid stuff, sometimes not. Remember that, and try to adapt and overcome.

Fire Team A[edit]

If you spawn in FT A, your job is to destroy the Blackhawk. Now, a good Defense team will already be heading over to the Blackhawk in the south Assault courtyard building. More than likely they will come from the south Assault courtyard hovel. A lot of times they will just hang out underneath that doorway and pick you off as you enter the room with the window overlooking the Blackhawk. More aggressive players, usually with the RPK, will go up the ladder and rush your position in the room next to the roof access courtyard. This can be devastating if they know how to use the RPK. A good way to get around this is to sit in the little alley under the roof access next to the wall. When they head toward the door leading to the Assault insertion point, looking to flank the FT that went for the pilot or headed into the center bombed building, you can light them up in their backs.

Ideally you will also have a soldier on the south side of the courtyard across from you in the little alley. Also, there should be somebody in the doorway drawing the attention of the Defense rusher. After the Defense rusher has been taken out, advance your team into the south courtyard building. Make sure to keep only one person in the intermediate room (the one before the room with the window). This is because across from the Blackhawk is another building with a window that will more than likely have a person watching the doorway ready to launch an M-203 or rocket. Eliminate him before he eliminates you. Also, watch the upper south side of the ruined defense building. There is a window with a nice view of the doorway and a doorway leading to the patio there.

If courtyard looks clear, you can risk jumping down and prepping then blowing Blackhawk. If Defense is good, you will die trying. This is because they probably have a guy in the south ruined building. The rest of the FT should drop down to the ground floor of the south Assault courtyard building and split up. Two should go south to the destroyed patio and two should go to the courtyard hovel. The two guys going south should concern themselves with the south courtyard defense building and the south ruined building. Watch the doorway with a little wall in front of it; this wall protects the doorway from the courtyard and center bombed out building.

With the two soldiers there back at the patio, have one of them cook and throw a grenade into the south ruined building, aiming for the top and back. The other guy should head toward the doorway, under cover from other soldier of course. Hopefully the grenade will take out anyone hanging on the stairs there watching the center bombed building. Once the first teammate makes it to door, the second one follows. Go through the doorway into the little room, watching for OpFor around corners and on stairs. There are a couple of blind spots where OpFor can hide and pop you in the back, so be vigilant. Now go up stairs onto the patio, watching the bombed out building. Make your way across to the little crash site building up top. Go into the building and out onto the second floor of ruined patio.

Now that the southern end of Blackhawk courtyard has been swept, go back to the hovel. This part is hard because you have to make sure the center bombed building is cleared before prepping and blowing the Blackhawk. When going out the door from the hovel to the courtyard, be sure to watch the 2nd story Defense patio. Go to bombed building to the north and send one guy west into the hallway and the other east leading to the room with the blown out wall. If FT B has done their job, then Defense will have been kept out of the north courtyard. If so, the soldier who went west will go back the way he came and watch the courtyard. The second will run around the back of bombed building, inside and up the stairs. Once on the second floor, run toward the second story Defense patio. The guy below, when he sees his teammate run across, should join him by going up ladder.

Now both of you go around to the patio with the hole in the floor. From here check to make sure there isn't any Defense waiting on the patios behind the south Defense ruined building. Go into the building and make sure it's clear. Now the Blackhawk courtyard should be clear. One of the soldiers now runs back out onto patio, down to the courtyard, and preps and blows the Blackhawk. Now that the objective is complete, FT A should now rendezvous at the area behind the south Defense ruined building. The two from the southern end go out into the courtyard behind the ruined Defense building and up the stairs into the room before the inferno room. The other two pull out onto the inferno patio and into the little ruined room there.

Fire Team B[edit]

FT B's job is to secure the northern courtyard to stop Defense rushers from getting into the center bombed building. SF operators go into the north Assault courtyard entrance building. Once in, go through first room to the second. This is where the doorway to the courtyard is. Go to the rubble pile there. From here you can watch the Defense entrance to the courtyard. There is a gutted van there complicating your shot, so use your scope. The second guy with you should have a grenade ready to blow the courtyard in case you miss your shot. This is very likely because you need to be quick. Now the two remaining members of FT B should go upstairs.

Upstairs there is a room with a window overlooking the courtyard and the northern Defense building. The second guy upstairs should wait just outside the first room to watch the FT A insertion point. If FT A gets in trouble, he will hopefully be able to stop Defense from rushing into the building and killing everyone from behind. The reason he stays outside the room with the window is because if Defense is smart, their RPG carrier will go into the northern Defense building and launch his RPGs into your building. It's boring, but FT B should wait until the Blackhawk is blown to move up.

When FT A has completed their objective, move forward. SF operators should move up first. Run across the courtyard under cover from the window. Prep a grenade and throw it through the door into the north Defense patio. After it blows, move into the building, watching the upper floor. Beware of a ledge that Defense can get on above the entrance, firing on you if you're not careful. When SF is in the north Defense patio, wait until your remaining team catches up. Stay out of the courtyard, as a good Defense M-203 or RPG can kill virtually everyone in this patio. If you are in the far north of corner of the patio you will most likely only be injured, but it is still avoidable. Before advancing on the northern Defense courtyard, note that on the northwest side of the courtyard is a deserted building with a window and a broken wall in front of the building. These are both excellent positions to watch the doorway. Both have little exposure and excellent coverage of area.

When you go in don't even peek out of the doorway, just bounce a smoke grenade off of the doorjamb into center of the charred building. Wait a moment for an M-203 round or RPG to come through if Defense is watching the doorway. Keep in mind that Defense may also be waiting to send in the firepower, so you'll have to judge how long to pause here. When you're ready to move, throw a smoke grenade to entice the enemy RPG. This takes practice, but shoot a 203 round or RPG through smoke into the general area that Defense could be waiting. Follow that by rushing your entire team in through the smoke. Send two heading north along the wall of the charred building and two going south around the broken wall and into the building with the caved in room.

The two that went north should make their way west so they have a clear view of the Defense insertion point. Then they will go into the building along the western side of courtyard. The two in the caved in building should go through and up the stairs until they are underneath the pilot objective. When the two on the west come out of the buildings, send them around and continue south watching under the pilot and also the pilot's room, along with the southern end of courtyard. The two underneath pilot should continue watching above and the doorway in front. Now both Fire Teams should advance on the rooms in front of them.

The southern team needs to watch the inferno, because a sneaky Defense player can be hiding there, ready to ambush unsuspecting Assaulters. The northern team needs to enter the room, quietly and slowly moving up. Now Defense has a good spot to watch this room from the southern corner of the Defense insertion courtyard. Hopefully FT B has completed their sweep and taken this guy out. If not you will need to shoot him or he will launch a 203 or RPG into the room taking you both out. The two in the inferno room advance across the courtyard and into the next room. Watch the doorways, and when you advance into the next room watch out because Defense could be sitting in the corner of the two doors, ambushing you as you come through. The other two members of FT A will also advance into this room. It's a bad idea to have that many people in one room, so quickly move two through the western door and two through northern door.

The western two need to watch the southern corner because there is a nice spot for Defense to lay in wait. Take the western two west across the courtyard and into the buildings, watching the second floor of the pilot objective building. The northern two should go through the western doorway of the bottom of pilot objective building. If you look into this room and see it's empty, take FT B up the stairs to the pilot. By this time you should have at least two people going upstairs and at least one going up a ladder with the other two covering. By this time there should only be a couple of Defense left. If you don't see them, then complete the mission. Otherwise, the remaining squad members should have a good vantage point on entrances to courtyard and be able to cover you as the objective is taken, winning mission.
