Artifacts and Items[edit]

Special items you may need... artifacts being indestructible items.

Crown of Chaos[edit]

One of three special artifacts that allows you to enter the Chaos Gate. It is located in the Stone Circle during Darknight, which is unlocked when you give six artifacts to the demented ratling.

Medal of Chaos[edit]

One of three special artifacts that allows you to enter the Chaos Gate. It is obtained by completing six quests from Gaab'Baay, who is in the high mountain village.

Sceptre of Chaos[edit]

One of three special artifacts that allows you to enter the Chaos Gate. It is located in level 66 of the Infinite dungeon, and is guarded my MaLaKaI.

Phial of Caladriel[edit]

This is located in the dark gremlin cave in the southwest corner of the map. It's pretty much useless except for wasting mana points to fry gremlins, or as fodder for a certain unstable individual somewhere in the CoC. It's good if you have loads of spare mana and you don't have a Light spell when surrounded by darkness. You don't want the grue to get you, do you?

Golden Gladius[edit]

Obtained by defeating the Arena champion. You can keep it as a prize, but may also trade it for the Tactics skill and proficiencies in all weapons.

Scythe of Corruption[edit]

found lying in a randomized spot around level 10-15 of the CoC, this weapon is EXTREMELY corrupting- even leaving it in your pack corrupts you faster. You can feed it to the demented ratling, sacrifice it to your god, or sell it for quite a lot of money- it IS an artifact after all, albeit one you probably don't like.

Lead-filled mace, Big Punch[edit]

Relatively self-explanatory. If you get past the dwarf elder's fifth quest (kill a demon, easy to do by simply luring him onto the alter in church and sacrificing it), then he gives you a 800-stone mace. Useful for bashing stuff's skulls in.

Trident of the Red Rooster[edit]

Can you just hear Andor Drakon screaming as you suck his power away and become an Ultimate Chaos God? Here are the steps to obtaining this wonderful artifact.

  1. Be careful that your first kill is not an exceedingly common monster, or you will be in big trouble later.
  2. Save Khelavaster from a certain death by giving him an amulet of life saving, for he is the only one who can perform the powerful magic required to summon the Trident. (If you aspire to become an Ultimate Chaos God, this may seem out of character. Just remember that you are perfectly free to slaughter Khelavaster with his own Trident once you have it.)
  3. Take Sharad-Waador's quest and slay Srraxxarrakex. The lightning wyrm will drop Needle, which looks like any other dagger until you identify it. COllect it.
  4. Go find where the Assassin Prince is hiding in the Dusty Dungeon. If you are at least level 45, he will tell you that the Mad Minstrel wants someone killed.
  5. Once you've killed your target (who is in the Infinite Dungeon), report to the Mad Minstrel, who will tell you the location of the Scintillating Cave.
  6. Kill the Emperor Moloch... quickly, before Chaos takes you... and take his scroll.
  7. Bring this scroll to Khelavaster in Terinyo, and he should summon the Trident for you. Remember that he is lawful and does not approve of chaotics.

This artifact allows you to enter the Chaos Gate, but you still need to have the Crown and Medal of chaos. If used as the kill shot against Andor Drakon, you will drain all of his powers.
