A monster ability may either be an innate ability (such as a breath attack) or a spell.

A shriek will alert any monsters within 40 tiles. In addition, monsters within line-of-sight will be hasted.

An arrow will either inflict 1d6, 3d6, 5d6 or 7d6 damage, depending on the strength of the monster.

A hard hitting attack; inflicts 1d12 damage for every set of 7 monsters level (including the first) set.

[edit] Breath

A breath attack is a ranged attack from some monsters. Breath attacks are normally based on the current health of the monsters, and may also have special effects.

Most breath attacks inflicts 1/3rd of the monster's hitpoints, u. Elemental breaths can be Acid, Electrisity, Fire and Cold to a maximum of 1600 damage.

A spell is a magical attack. Like the player, monsters can fail to cast spells - the rate of failure is 25% for the earliest monsters, to 0% for the deepest enemy.

The power of spells is based on the monster's level - thus a novice mage being level 2 won't cast the same spell powerfully as the deeper monsters.

Mind Blast 8d8 Can save. Confuses.
Mind Smash 12d15 Can save. Blinds, confuses, paralizes, Slows.
Cause light wounds 3d8 Can save.
Cause serious wounds 8d8 Can save.
Cause critical wounds 10d15 Can save.
Cause mortal wounds 15d15 Can save. Also gives cuts for 10d10 turns.

Cause fear None Can save. Causes fear for 1d4+3 turns.
Cause blindness None Can save. Causes blindness for 1d4+11 turns.
Cause confusion None Can save. Causes confusion for 1d4+3 turns.
Cause slow None Can save. Causes slow for 1d4+3 turns.
Paralyze None Can save. Causes paralysis for 1d4+3 turns.
Cause fear None Can save. Causes fear for 1d4+3 turns.
Haste None Increases monster's speed.
Cure Wounds None Heals by 6*lvl.
Blink None Teleports upto 10 tiles away.
Teleport None Teleports upto 45 tiles away.
Summon player None Teleports the player to the monster.
Teleport Away none Teleports the player 100 tiles away.
Teleport Level None Can save, resist by nexus. Teleports the player to an adjecent level.
Darkness None Darkens the room.
Create Trap None Creats traps surrounding the player. "<monster> casts a spell and cackles evilly."
Amnesia None can save. Causes Amesia, which interferes with scroll use, activation, and spell casting.
Summon Monster None Summons one monster randomly.
Summon Monsters None Summons monsters randomly. (8)
Summon Kin/Minions None Summons monsters of the same type of the spell caster. (6)
Summon Greater Demons None Summons greater demons. (8)
