In the multiplayer for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, you are one of many Abstergo agents practicing in a simulator to gain assassination skills like Ezio. If you recall the beginning of Assassin's Creed II, when you leave Abstergo you go through a huge bay of Animi, and this is where the agents are training for the multiplayer.

Multiplayer consists of several different game modes, and you attempt to gain high scores in each session to add experience to your multiplayer profile. Leveling up with experience will unlock more abilities and enhancements, and you will rise up through the leaderboards. The gameplay is different from the single player campaign, with a simpler control scheme and a single weapons based on the character you are using.
