This short sequence opens up Venice, where you will spend most of your time in the game. After this sequence, you'll also get your first break from the Animus, where Lucy will see how well you've synchronized with Ezio.

Road trip[edit]

  • Memory start: Talk to Lorenzo de' Medici in an enclosed courtyard in the middle of Florence.
  • Reward: Medici Cape

After speaking with Lorenzo and acquiring the Medici Cape, head south to Leonardo's workshop. Your notoriety won't increase in Florence or Tuscany while you're wearing the cape, although guards will still chase you when provoked. When you get to the workshop, Leonardo's assistant will tell you he's on his way to Venice to work on a new commission and his entire shop is being relocated there.

Romagna holiday[edit]

  • Memory start: Head into the mountains to the east of Florence and enter the white marker there.
  • Reward: 4,000ƒ, Races unlocked, Assassination contracts unlocked, Courier assignments unlocked, Beat up missions unlocked

You'll start out driving the carriage and talking with Leonardo when suddenly you're attacked. While driving, you only need to use the movement controls to go left and right; the horses will continue to run throughout the memory. When men jump onto the carriage initially, they'll be hanging from the sides. Slam them into a wall to dislodge them, or wait until they get on top of the carriage when all it takes is swerving the carriage left and right to send them flying. It's hard to do, but if you roll the carriage by turning too sharply, it kills Leonardo and the memory will desynchronize. If an enemy gets up to you, you'll need to press the unarmed hand button repeatedly to knock him away, or he'll choke you to death. The other way to desynchronize is to let the carriage take too much damage. It will take damage by running into the roadblocks along the way or running over fire spots.

Eventually you'll make it down to a bridge that they'll set on fire. After you barely make it across, archers will shoot flaming arrows down onto the road in front of you. These can really damage the carriage, so avoid them as much as you can. After the fire, you'll have a section of normal roadblocks and the enemies will be back jumping onto the carriage. The last section is a combination of all obstacles – roadblocks, fire and enemies. When you make it to the end, you'll jump off the carriage to buy Leonardo some time to escape, and a group of enemies will approach from all sides. If you don't feel like fighting them, just run over to the white marker to end the memory, or do so after killing everyone.

Tutti a bordo[edit]

  • Memory start: Talk to Leonardo at the docks by the Avamposto Veneziano north of Forlì.
  • Reward: 2,500ƒ

After talking with Leonardo you'll find that you need a pass to get into Venice. There's a troubled woman stranded on a nearby island and you'll need to pick her up by boat. Swim out to the boat with the white marker on it and press the unarmed hand button while next to the oar to start driving. Hold the button until Ezio completes a full stroke, then quickly let go and press again when he gets back into position. Although it looks odd, you can also just quickly tap the button to go as fast. Take the boat around the other side of the island to woman shouting for help. After picking her up, take her back to the docks where you were talking with Leonardo.

Desmond's training[edit]

  • Reward: 30 Uplay network

When you've finished the three memories in this sequence, enter the white marker on the ship in the docks to move to a section outside the Animus. Apparently spending too much time as Ezio can damage your brain, so the Assassins want to test out what you've learned to see if you're picking up any of your ancestor's skills. Head out of the room and take the stairs down to the warehouse where Lucy is waiting. She'll open up a new section of the warehouse and tell you to activate the building's security system by finding and reaching all the sensors. They're all flashing red and you can press any button when you get up to them to activate them. Two of the sensors are at opposite ends of the warehouse on the ground level, and two are up above, accessible from the metal walkways up there. When you've activated them all, return to Lucy, then head back upstairs.

On your way back up you'll experience some more of the bleeding effect. When you have control, run straight ahead to the target waiting for you and begin to follow them. You won't be able to interact with or kill the target, so just follow for now. You also don't have to worry about anyone else, as they don't seem to notice you. When the target goes inside the tower where you can't follow, climb up to the top yourself. When you get to the balcony with the wooden beam above it, you'll need to wall run up the side and jump over to the beam by moving in its direction and pressing the legs button. Keep climbing up to the top of the tower and enter the white marker by the target. Take a leap of faith when you regain control.

When you wake up the next morning, head back into the Animus whenever you're ready.
