Enemies are shown in order of appearance.
Mine | Kangaroo |
---|---|
Mines are completely stationary. As such, they appear off in the distance, and get closer as Nokko flies forward. They do not fire and are easy to destroy. | Kangaroos bounce left and right as they make their way closer to Nokko. They have a variety of behaviors, including bouncing off the screen, bouncing back in to the distance, and sometimes, they even fire at Nokko. |
Crocodiles | Tortoise |
The jet-pack wearing crocodiles frequently appear in many stages. Their jet-packs provide them with a lot of maneuverability, so they can take many different paths, but they typically like to fly in wide circles, looping once in front of Nokko before blasting off. They will typically fire in later stages. | Tortoises approach Nokko along the ground in groups of four. They zig-zag left and right as they get closer. Typically, the first group you encounter won't fire, but a second group will. |
Orbs | Armadillo |
It's not really clear if this is meant to be a species of animal at all, but regardless, they are one of the more deadly enemies that you will face. They typically appear in groups of three and orbit around in a circle while firing at you. They have a high defense and require multiple shots before they are destroyed. | Armadillos launch themselves high into the air from a far distance and bomb their way into the scene, touching down on the ground just before Nokko, and then bouncing back up into the air as they exit the screen. Nokko can both shoot them and safely dodge them from the ground. |
Skeleton | Shark |
Most early skeletons remain motionless on the ground and pose little threat to Nokko, especially if she flies above them. Later on, however, they gain the ability to shoot at her, and even jump off the ground and into the air. | These cyclops sharks are as dangerous as they are odd looking. Although they only take one shot to defeat them, you must hit them squarely in the eye. Shots anywhere else will simply bounce off them. They live beneath the ground and jump up to fire at Nokko before dropping back down and submerging themselves again for another attack. |
Acorns | Mice |
Not strictly an animal, these acorns are pretty much identical to mines. They appear in one position off in the distance and stay there as you fly toward them. | The mice in this world appear to have a slight weight problem. Either that, or they are filled with air and hover very low off the ground. Either way, they can be shot from the ground and pose little threat to Nokko. |
Crow | Jellyfish |
Crows fly in from the top of the screen in the background, and quickly swoop to the front, landing on the ground right in front of Nokko. As soon as they touch down, they immediately leap back into the air, flying back to where they originated. They are very likely to hit Nokko if she is floating low in the sky, so stay on the ground or high in the air when they appear. | Jellyfish are like mines and acorns, but they are also a bit more dangerous since they bob up and down and can a little harder to hit. |
Sea Anemone | Urchin |
Anemones behave a lot like mice in that they tend to stick to the ground as they arrive from the background. However, just before reaching Nokko, they float up off the ground. | Urchins are like underwater crocodiles, but they tend to be a bit more dangerous, hovering in the area right where Nokko is swimming. |
Starfish | Squid |
Starfish move forward while flying in small little circles. They are even harder to hit than jellyfish. | Squids swim forward to investigate the commotion. If you don't shoot them, they peacefully swim up to the top of the screen. If you do shoot them, they will display an anguished expression before exploding into four smaller squids that swim on ahead. |
Turtles | Flame |
The turtles of the sea behave exactly the same as their above-ground tortoise brethren. | Flames appear like starfish, but they seem to move a little bit more randomly, and are thus even harder to predict. |
Cobra | Bat |
Cobras tend to appear low to the ground. They can move left and right with startling speed. They float upwards as they approach Nokko. | Bats can fly in a variety of different ways. They can bob up and down along the top of the sky, or stay closer to the floor, they can remain at one height, and they can retreat. |
Spider | |
Spiders drop down from the sky right where Nokko is! After they bob up and down, they scoot backward into the distance. They can't be killed after they drop, and they are very hard to kill once they retreat. |
