Reminder: The screenshots below are taken from the graphically enhanced X68000 versions. The floor setup and solutions are identical to the Famicom and Game Boy Color versions.
From the start, take the two blocks on the staircase to the left and transfer them to make a staircase to the right so that you can reach the platform to the right. When you land, use the block that you find there to reach the vine.
Climb all the way up to block 1. Watch out for the bat when you reach this ares. Use block 1 and the block below to build a staircase to the left in order to reach the next vine. Then bring block 2 over to the right and use it as the base for a staircase to the exit.
Fall down to the left, and you'll land on the staircase with block 3. Pluck the block beneath block 3 and let block 3 fall down the staircase below. Fall down after it, and stack block 3 on top of block 4 to reach the left vine.
Climb all the way up to the top and drop block 5 over the right edge. Follow it down and stack it on top of block 2 so that you can reach the door.
Floor 42 essentially consists of two separate puzzles, one on the bottom and one on the top. You'll also have a bat to contend with.
To solve the bottom puzzle, use blocks 1 and 2 to create a staircase to the right platform. Then return to the left and carry blocks 3 and 4 over to the platform. Starting with block 4, begin to make a staircase to the left in order to reach the vine hanging above.
Once you can reach the vine, you will climb up to the second puzzle. Use the two blocks at position 6 to make a bridge over the gap in the floor. Then carry over the two blocks at position 7 to the right. Now using the three of the five blocks that you have to your right, build a staircase up to the platform on the left.
Take the remaining two blocks up to the left platform, and begin building a staircase back to the right, to the platform below the door. You will need to bring the fourth block along with you in order to reach the door.
There are a couple of exits on this stage, but only one is really feasible. Start by climbing the staircase along the right side, and reach block 1. Toss it down to the ground and begin to build a staircase by stacking blocks on top of block 2.
When the staircase is four blocks high (it should be reaching the small platform above the long vine) drop down and move blocks 3 and 4 so that block 3 is below the second block in the staircase. Then climb back up the right side.
Drop a few more blocks down from the stack of blocks where block 1 came from so that you can pick them up from the left. Then pluck the second block from the staircase, and let the other two blocks fall. Now you can continue to build the staircase up to the lowest door on the left.
Start out by making your way to the left by lifting the top block of the staircase immediately to your left, and falling through to continue on. Climb up the vine and reach block 1.
Lift up block 1 and fall beneath it so that you land on block 2. When the coast is clear, jump down to the right of block 2 and toss it over the left edge. This will allow the two Babelz to start dropping blocks down the left side.
Climb back up to block 1, and wait for enough blocks to pile up so that the crystal below you becomes accessible. When the blocks are high enough, pluck the block beneath block 1, and drop down on top of the pile. Then fall to the left and collect the crystal.
Now make your way to the top, cross over to the right using the floating platform, climb the right vine and approach block 3. Lift it up and fall beneath it to collect the second crystal.
Finally, drop down to block 4, and pluck it from the staircase. Allow the other two blocks to fall, creating a staircase that leads directly to the open door.
This stage won't tax your brain like some of the previous stages have. All you need to do is remove the correct blocks and fall down through each of the chambers to collect the crystals below, and move on to the door. If you work fast enough, the priest who are chasing you will get stuck in the chambers above you, unable to reach you.
The first crystal is actually the hardest to get. In order to collect it, you will need to drop down into its chamber, and lift the block above the left vine. Place it to the left of the block above the right vine so that you can use it as a step ladder to the crystal.
At this point, you may have to contend with priest 4 who occupied the chamber to the left. If so, use the block that you moved to squash him. Then continue into each chamber as follows: from the first crystal, left, left, right, right.
You should now be at the second crystal, which is much easier to collect. Then move into the left chamber and collect the third crystal. Then move into the right chamber and pluck block 6 from the staircase, allowing the block above it to provide you with a ramp to the door.
The three crystals on this stage are not terribly difficult to collect, and the priest that runs around the stage won't even present much of a threat.
The first crystal can be collected simply by jumping off the ledge above. The second crystal can be collected by building a staircase out of the blocks to the right. The last crystal must be dug out from the blocks that cover it.
However, once you collect all of the crystals, you'll have to figure out where the exit it. It's buried behind some set of blocks. Read the spoiler below to learn its location.
Exit Location
The exit is hidden behind the two blocks in the upper right corner of the floor.
It's raining blocks… literally. Like Tetris' worst nightmare, you begin at the bottom of the vines while a set of unsympathetic blocks pour down from the sky. You'll have to move back and forth along the widest portion of the vines. Roughly five waves of blocks must pass before the stage quiets down and you can safely climb to the top and leave.
