Expansion pack(s) Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal
Preceded by Baldur's Gate

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn is the second computer RPG in the Baldur's Gate series, taking place just a few months after the events of Baldur's Gate. The game system is based on the rules of the famous Advanced Dungeons & Dragons pen-and-paper system, set in the equally popular Forgotten Realms campaign setting. The game was programmed using the Infinity Engine, which was used in the Icewind Dale series and Planescape: Torment. The expansion pack Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal was released in 2001. The game is dedicated to Daniel Walker, the second employee of Bioware who passed away on June 6th, 1999.
