The protagonist of the game. He is all that stands in the way of Dr. Bakuda and his evil army and will not stop until they are defeated and the world is once again safe for humanity.
To the left is Beraboh Man as he appears in the regular platforming stages. To the right is how he appears in the underwater stages, where he fights his enemies with missiles and depth charges instead of his limbs.
The alien from Planet Alpha who gave Beraboh Man his powers. He appears on the first stage to provide a "how to play" walkthrough of the game's controls, and also appears on the thirty-second stage after Dr. Bakuda has been defeated.
Beraboh Man's sort-of partner. He appears at the end of most regular platforming stages to give Beraboh Man energy bonuses.
These are the first enemies you'll meet. You just have to hit them once to kill them.
They're too near the ground to be punched or kicked, so you'll have to take them out with a single headbutt.
They hide in some of the pipes in the City stages. They'll come out for a few seconds, then fire a missile at Beraboh Man before going back into the pipe again. One hit will kill them.
They attack in a manner similar to that of the Mini Tanks, but can move backwards as well as forwards. One hit, which has to be a headbutt, will kill them.
They move backwards and forwards in a fixed position if they can detect that Beraboh Man is nearby and will occasionally shoot flames at him. If Beraboh Man lands on their heads, he will not get injured. Two hits will kill them.
When Beraboh Man approaches them, they will fire their heads at him and instantly grow replacement ones. After this they will move towards him before firing their heads at him again. Three hits will kill them.
They can move either up and down or left and right in a fixed position. They can't be killed and must be avoided.
They do not move, but will occasionally open their mouths to emit a magnetic force that pulls Beraboh Man towards them if he is in its range. Two hits will kill them.
The green, red, gray and black ones shoot axes at Beraboh Man, but the blue ones lower themselves down on him. One hit will kill them, but they will sometimes ricochet back at you so you have to jump to avoid them.
Appears as a boss on the second, fifth, sixth, eighteenth, thirtieth and thirty-second stages. He usually takes six hits, but on the thirty-second stage he will take 28. After being defeated here, he will reveal that Dr. Bakuda originally created him in order to make him (Beraboh Man) more powerful and will even give him five Onigiri energy bonuses.
They can attack in two ways: either by swimming directly at Beraboh Man, or by waiting until he approaches then swimming up to hit him from below. One hit will kill them.
They can also attack in two ways: by swimming directly at Beraboh Man, or by walking along and shooting spiked balls at him. One hit will kill them.
They swim up and down in a fixed position. One hit will kill them.
When Beraboh Man approaches, they will swim down in an attempt to land on him. One hit will kill them.
They don't move, but will shoot spiked balls at Beraboh Man. One hit will kill them.
When Beraboh Man approaches, they will home in on him. Three hits will kill them, but if one latches on to Beraboh Man, you'll have to shake it off in order to get rid of it as they will drain his energy.
They move in a zigzag pattern and attack in groups of nine. One hit will kill them, and if Beraboh Man kills one, he will also kill any others behind it.
When they see Beraboh Man, they will shoot spiked balls at him and retreat. One hit will kill them.
Appears as a boss on the third, eleventh, sixteenth, twenty-fifth and twenty-seventh stages. It attacks by spitting projectiles at Beraboh Man from its heads, which take five hits each. After you've destroyed the heads, you'll need to score a hit on its operator to make it retreat.
When they see Beraboh Man, they will jump into the air in an attempt to land on him. Two hits will kill them.
The purple ones hop around on pogo sticks and try to jump on Beraboh Man, while the green ones will throw projectiles at him. The purple ones can be killed with one hit, while the green ones take two.
They throw projectiles at Beraboh Man and can be defeated in two hits. But if Beraboh Man defeats one, her true identity will be revealed, and she can still injure Beraboh Man if she touches him!
When Beraboh Man approaches, they will come at him very quickly. One hit, which has to be a headbutt, will kill them.
They try to attack Beraboh Man from below. One hit will kill them.
They attack in pairs and appear as bosses on the fourth, twenty-eighth, twenty-ninth, thirtieth and thirty-second stages (you'll have to fight two pairs of them at once here). Five hits each will kill them.
Another enemy that can attack in two ways: either by firing a missile at Beraboh Man, then moving down the screen to fire another and retreating once they've reached the bottom, or by firing a missile at Beraboh Man and retreating soon after. One hit will kill them.
They fly around above Beraboh Man and try to drop bombs on him. One hit will bring them down, but you'll have to land another hit on them to kill them - and quickly too, because they will soon get back up again.
They hop around on 10-ton weights and try to jump on Beraboh Man. One hit will kill them.
They will circle around Beraboh Man and electrocute him. Unless you have obtained a Kobushi powerup earlier in the stage or still have a few atoms remaining, it is impossible to avoid being electrocuted. If the number of hits you land on them amounts to five, they will both be killed.
They fire missiles at Beraboh Man from their arms. Five hits will kill them.
They fire projectiles at Beraboh Man from the end of the chains that they wave around, which are their only vulnerable spots. Five hits will kill them.
They attack in a manner similar to the first way of the Kurage, but propel themselves upwards in a spiral. One hit will kill them.
Another enemy that attacks in a manner similar to the first way of the Kurage, but these ones spin around while propelling themselves upwards. One hit will kill them.
They attack in a manner similar to that of the Doragon, but can also shoot spiked balls at Beraboh Man. One hit will kill them.
They attack by shooting spiked balls at Beraboh Man. Three hits will kill them, but if they aren't dealt with quickly, they will latch on to Beraboh Man, draining his energy.
They attack in a manner similar to that of the Kame. Three hits will kill them.
Appears as a boss on the seventh, sixteenth, twenty-first and twenty-seventh stages. His minions will throw spiked balls at Beraboh Man, and five hits will kill one of them. When all four have been killed, he will retreat.
The first type will throw spiked balls at Beraboh Man and take five hits as they protect the King of Atlantis from Beraboh Man's attacks - but sometimes they appear as regular enemies and only take one hit. The second type will try to stick their tridents into Beraboh Man and also take one hit.
When Beraboh Man approaches, they will float down from above in an attempt to land on him. One hit will kill them.
When they see Beraboh Man, they will curl up into a ball and bounce towards him. They can jump over anything in their way. One hit will kill them.
They hover through the air and will occasionally throw knives at Beraboh Man. One hit will kill them.
Appears as a boss on the eighth and twenty-second stages. When he appears, he sets up an invisible wall in front of him which will not go away until he is defeated. He hovers up and down in a fixed position, firing shots from his pistol at Beraboh Man. It takes five hits to bring him down the first time, and three hits for the second and third times. In 1990, he got a game of his own, aptly titled Pistol Daimyo no Bouken.
Appears as a boss on the eighth, twenty-third and twenty-sixth stages. He will ricochet around the screen, trying to collide with Beraboh Man. He takes four hits to bring down and three more to defeat him completely. These last three hits have to be landed on him quickly, because he will soon get back up again.
They appear as bosses on the eighth, twelfth, thirteenth (you'll have to fight two of them at once here), seventeenth, twenty-second, twenty-sixth, twenty-ninth and thirty-first stages. Six hits will kill them, but they can only be attacked from behind.
Appears as a boss on the ninth, fourteenth, eighteenth, nineteenth and thirty-first stages. He will fly around above Beraboh Man until he is hit once. Then, he will hover up and down in a fixed position, firing projectiles at Beraboh Man. It takes seven more hits to make him retreat. On the thirty-first stage, he will fire knives at Beraboh Man instead of his usual projectiles.
When Beraboh Man approaches, they will drop down from above and run towards him. One hit will kill them.
Appears as a boss on the twelfth and twenty-second stages. She drops down from above, creates small explosions on the ground and throws knives at Beraboh Man. Four hits will kill her.
They are similar to the Totems, but they don't do anything. They will just sit in place until Beraboh Man hits them, and, like the Totems, they will sometimes come ricocheting back at him. They also make a later appearance in Bakutotsu Kijuutei.
Appears as a boss on the twenty-seventh stage. His minions attack in exactly the same way as the regular King's do.
If the player takes too long over a stage, he will appear and fire death rays at Beraboh Man. These will drain his energy very quickly and he is not allowed to move all the time one is touching him. Twelve hits will kill him, but it's not worth fighting him unless you have obtained a Kobushi powerup earlier in the stage or still have a few atoms remaining. Even if you do manage to kill him, he will come back again and again, and he will always appear at the end of the seventeenth stage and the beginning of the thirty-second stage, regardless of how much time has passed.
The antagonist of the game. He appears at the start of each stage to inform the player of the stage's number. At the end of the thirty-second stage, he appears as the final boss. His head is his only vulnerable spot, and each time he is hit, his hair will turn orange, grow taller and fire a death ray at Beraboh Man. He also opens his cloak to fire missiles at Beraboh Man. After twenty hits, his body will be destroyed and his head will enter a teleporter. Then, he will randomly fly around the screen as a shadow, but he can still injure Beraboh Man if he touches him. When he stops moving, he will expose himself to attack for a few seconds and fire a death ray at Beraboh Man. It takes ten more hits to force him back inside the teleporter and completely defeat him.
