Area 1[edit]

Welcome to the game. Once the Star Fighter has appeared at the bottom of the screen, two groups of four Kurage will come zigzagging towards you on the left side of the screen; once you have fired a red shot at each of them, to kill them, a third group of four Kurage will come zigzagging towards you on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired a red shot at each of them, to kill them, a fourth group of four Kurage will come zigzagging towards you in the centre of the screen - and once you fire one red shot at each of these to kill them a fifth group of four Kurage will come zigzagging towards you on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired a red shot at each of them, to kill them, a sixth group of eight Kurage will come zigzagging towards you in the centre of the screen; once you fire one red shot at each of them to kill them, two more groups of four Kurage will come zigzagging towards you on the left and right sides of the screen. Once you fire out a red shot at all of these, to kill them, a group of five Ika will come flying towards you in a straight line on the left side of the screen - and once you have fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, another group of five Ika will come flying towards you in a straight line on the right side of the screen. Once you fire a red shot at all of them to kill them, two more groups of three Ika will come flying towards you in a straight line on the left and right sides of the screen; once you've fired a red shot at each of these, to kill them, two more groups of three Ika will come flying towards you in a straight line (on the left and right sides of the screen). Once you've fired a red shot at each of these to kill them, a group of four Tiara will approach you from the top of the screen, and retreat when they see you - and once you have fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, switch to the yellow firing pattern as two Choucho come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level. Once you have fired a yellow shot at both of these to kill them, switch back to that red firing pattern, as two groups of three Jets approach you from the left and right sides of the screen, and retreat once they have seen you; once you've fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, switch back to the yellow firing pattern again, as two more Choucho come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level. Once you've fired a yellow shot at both of them to kill them you will come to an Enemy Base from the original Bosconian arcade game that's rotating on its Y-axis in the centre of the screen - and once you've fired enough yellow shots at it to kill it, switch back to the red firing pattern again, as a Spy Ship (which is also from that original Bosconian arcade game) comes flying down on the left side of the screen. It will fly back up off the top of the screen once it has reached the bottom, and if you fail to fire enough red shots at it to kill it before it does so, a Cosmo-Mine (which is, again, also from that original Bosconian arcade game) will come flying down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen, and explode into eight pieces of shrapnel which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive; you'll then have to switch back to the yellow firing pattern for a third time, as you come to another Enemy Base from the original Bosconian arcade game which is rotating on its Y-axis on the right side of the screen. Once you've fired enough yellow shots at this to kill it switch back to the red firing pattern for a third time as another Spy Ship comes flying down in the centre of the screen - and as with the first one, it'll fly back up off the top of the screen once it's reached the bottom. Again, if you fail to fire enough red shots at it to kill it before it does so, another Cosmo-Mine will come flying down over the Star Fighter's current position on the screen then explode into eight more pieces of shrapnel, which must be destroyed if you wish to stay alive; you'll then have to switch back to the yellow firing pattern for a fourth time, as a ninth group of eight Kurage comes zigzagging down towards you on the left side of the screen, and two more Choucho come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen before closing in on the Star Fighter once they reach its level. Once you've fired a yellow shot at all of these, to kill them, a tenth group of eight Kurage will zigzag down towards you while two Kagerou fly down (on the left and right sides of the screen) and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level - and once you fire off a yellow shot at all of these, to kill them, an eleventh group of eight Kurage will come zigzagging towards you (on the right side of the screen), while four more Choucho come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level. Once you fire a yellow shot at all of these, to kill them, you will have to switch back to that red firing pattern for a fourth time, as two more groups of four Kurage come zigzagging towards you in the centre of the screen; once you've fired a red shot at each of them to kill them a fourteenth group of eight Kurage will come zigzagging down towards you in the centre of the screen. Once you fire a red shot at each of them, to kill them, you'll have to switch back to the yellow firing pattern for a fifth time as you come to a third (stretched-out) Enemy Base that is rotating on its Y-axis in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired enough yellow shots at it to kill it, you will have to switch back to the red firing pattern for a fifth time, as two more groups of six Jets approach you on the left side of the screen, then retreat once they have seen you - and once you've fired a red shot at each of these to kill them, two groups of six more Jets will approach you on the right side of the screen, then retreat once they have seen you. Once you've fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, switch back to the yellow firing pattern for a sixth time as two more Choucho come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level; once you fire one yellow shot at both of them to kill them, you'll come to a fourth Enemy Base from the original Bosconian arcade game, which is rotating on its Y-axis on the left side of the screen. Once you have fired enough yellow shots at it to kill it, two more Choucho will come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen and close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level - and once you've fired a yellow shot at each of these, to kill them, you will come to a fifth Enemy Base from that original Bosconian arcade game, that is rotating on its Y-axis on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired enough yellow shots at it to kill it, two more Choucho will fly down on the left and right sides of the screen, and close in on the Star Fighter once they've reached its level - and once you have fired a yellow shot at both of these to kill them, you will come to a sixth Enemy Base from that original Bosconian arcade game which is rotating on its Y-axis on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired enough yellow shots at this to kill it the background will start to scroll downwards toward the world's space base as a third Kagerou comes flying towards you from the top of the screen; once you have fired a yellow shot at it to kill it, switch back to the red firing pattern for a sixth time as two groups of two Teraji come flying down towards you from the top-left and top-right corners of the screen. Once you've fired a red shot at each of them to kill them another group of six Tiara will approach you from the top-left corner of the screen and retreat once they have seen you - and once you've fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, switch back to the yellow firing pattern for a seventh time, as two more Kagerou come flying down on the left and right sides of the screen then close in on the Star Fighter once they have reached its level. Once you have fired a yellow shot at both of them to kill them, switch back to the red firing pattern for a seventh time, as a third group of six Tiara approach you from the top-right corner of the screen and retreat once they have seen you; once you've fired a red shot at all of these, to kill them, the Star Fighter will proceed to the world's second area. This first base also looks somewhat like an enormous Mickey Mouse head.

Area 2[edit]

Once the Star Fighter has reappeared at the bottom of the screen, twenty E-Type Missiles (which, like the Enemy Bases, Spy Ships and Cosmo-Mines, are also from the original Bosconian arcade game) will come flying down towards you from the top of the screen; once you have fired a red shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to a formation of six Beam Launchers, and three No Launchers, which are guarding the entrance to the world's space base. Although you will have the chance to destroy the No that the No Launchers will be firing at you, for 100 extra points apiece, it is advisable to keep moving around the screen, to avoid being overwhelmed by them - along with the double-bullets that the Beam Launchers will be firing at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at all six of the Beam Launchers and all three of the No Launchers to kill them, Star Fighter will proceed to the world's third and final area and undergo a significant increase in size for the first time once it has done so; this may make it harder for it to avoid enemies and shots.

Area 3[edit]

Once the Star Fighter has reappeared at the bottom of the screen at its larger size, you will come up to four White Tanks on the alternating right and left sides of the screen, which are firing slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired off enough red shots at each of these to kill them, you will come to three Green Tanks on that left side of the screen, which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, you'll come to five more Green Tanks on the right side of the screen which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you - and once you've fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, you'll come to a ninth Green Tank on the left side of the screen that's firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you've fired enough red shots at it to kill it you will come to five more White Tanks on the right side of the screen which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired enough red shots at all of these, to kill them, you will come up to five more White Tanks on the left side of the screen. Once you have fired enough red shots at each of them, to kill them, you will come to three more Green Tanks on the right side of the screen, which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you - and once you've fired off enough red shots at all of these to kill them, you will come to six more Green Tanks on the left side of the screen which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at each of these to kill them, you will come to four more Green Tanks in the centre of the screen, which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, you will come to four more White Tanks in the centre of the screen which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, you will come to four more White Tanks on the left side of the screen, that are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you - and once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, you will come to two more Green Tanks on the right side of the screen that are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you fire enough red shots at both of them to kill them, you will come to four more White Tanks on that left side of the screen, that are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you; once you have fired enough red shots at each of them to kill them, you will come to two more White Tanks on the right side of the screen which are firing more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at both of them to kill them, the "boss" theme will start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2151 as the world's boss character comes down from the top of the screen, and its four protective cannons emerge from the nearby trapdoors on the left and right sides of the screen - the boss will then start moving down towards you, and up away from you, as it fires a purple ball directly ahead of itself at you and two yellow balls diagonally ahead of itself at you, while its protective cannons start to fire even more slow-moving projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough red shots at each of the protective cannons to kill them, the boss will cease firing for a few seconds; this gives you a chance to destroy the three shielding devices that are circling around it before it starts firing again. Once you have fired enough red shots at the boss itself to kill it (it changes its colour from blue to yellow to red when hit), any of the balls that are currently on screen will explode, and the Star Fighter will proceed to escape from the space base just before it blows up, then travel on to the next world - and you will then receive a 20000-point bonus, for destroying the world's space base. The Star Fighter will also be returned to its original smaller sizing just before the next time it is scheduled to reappear at the bottom of the screen.
