Once the screen has faded back in, and Vanguard has come out the other side of that hole in the wall from the end of the previous mission, you will not be able to make it go back through it given that a seventh invisible wall has been set up on the back side of it; instead, you will have to continue moving forward, as a Big Jet comes flying into view from the top of the screen (but you cannot kill it), then move to the left as you come to a powerup box. Once you've fired a bullet at it to destroy it, it will leave an "Oil" powerup behind - and once you have collected it, it will refill a quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter. Four Hurricanes will then come flying into view from the top of the screen and circle around above Vanguard while dropping bombs on it (but you cannot kill them); you'll then have to move to the left as you come to an Ochre Tank that is shooting flames at you. Once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over this to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward, then move to the right, then continue moving forward again as you come to an Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you - and once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over it, to kill it, three Killers will come flying into view from the right and left sides of the screen and drop bombs on you (but you cannot kill them). You will then have to move downward as you come to another Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you; once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over this one to kill it three more Killers will come flying into view from the right and left sides of the screen and drop bombs on you (but again, you cannot kill them). You will then have to continue moving forward, as you come to a Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, four Boeings will come flying into view from the top of the screen and drop bombs on you (but you can't kill them). You will then have to move to the right, as you come up to a Brown Tank that is shooting flames at you; once you've fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, four more Boeings will come flying into view from the left side of the screen, and drop bombs on you (but again, you cannot kill them). You will then have to continue moving forward, as you come to a second Ochre Tank and two Hyper Tanks that are shooting flames and firing bullets at you - and once you've fired enough bullets at or driven over each of these, to kill them, four more Hurricanes will come flying into view from the top of the screen and circle around above Vanguard while dropping bombs on it (but again, you cannot kill them). You will then have to move to the left, then continue moving downward as you come up to another Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, three Concordes will come flying into view from the right side of the screen, and drop bombs on you (but you can't kill them). You will then have to move to the left, then continue moving downward, as you come up to a third Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, three more Concordes will come flying into view from the left side of the screen, and drop bombs on you (but again, you can't kill them). You'll now have to move to the left as you come up to a fourth Green Artillery that's firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, four more Concordes will come flying into view from the bottom of the screen, and drop bombs on you (but once again, you cannot kill them). You will then have to continue moving forward, as you come up to two Super Tanks that are firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over both of them to kill them you will have to continue moving forward as three indestructible Rocks (which will kill Vanguard if they land on it) fall down to the ground. Once you have bypassed them, you will come up to a second powerup box; once you have fired a bullet at it, to destroy it, it will leave another "Oil" powerup behind. Once you've collected it, it will refill a second quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter - and three more Concordes will then come flying into view from the top, left side and bottom of the screen and drop bombs on you (but yet again, you cannot kill them). You will then have to move to the right as you come to a fifth Green Artillery that is firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it another Big Jet will come flying into view from the top of the screen (but again, you can't kill it). You'll now have to continue moving forward as you come to another Brown Tank that is shooting flames at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it four more Hurricanes will come flying into view from the top of the screen and circle round above Vanguard while dropping bombs on it (but for a fifth time, you can't kill them). You will then come to a third Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you from behind the trees in front of you - and once you have fired enough bullets at it to kill it (as it is obviously in a position where it cannot be driven over), you will have to move to the left as you come up to a third Super Tank and a third Hyper Tank that are firing bullets at you. Once you have fired a bullet at or driven over both of them to kill them, four Gray Helis will come flying into view from the bottom of the screen (but you cannot kill them); you will then have to continue moving forward, as you come to a fourth Super Tank that is firing bullets at you. Once you've fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, three more Killers will come flying into view from the right and left sides of the screen and drop bombs on you (but once again, you cannot kill them) - and you will then come to a third Ochre Tank, a fourth Ochre Artillery and a fourth Hyper Tank that are shooting flames and firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over each of them to kill them, four more Boeings will come flying into view from the top of the screen and drop bombs on you (but once again, you cannot kill them); you'll then come up to a gate marked "T-1". Once Vanguard has gone through it, it will come out that other side in its normal shot incarnation (meaning that it will be able to fire its anti-aircraft missiles up at the air-based enemies again) - and you will then have to move to the right, then continue moving forward as you come to a gate in front of you. Once you have fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you'll have to pass through it as three more Super Tanks emerge from the wall on the left side of the screen, and start moving towards you while firing bullets at you; once you have fired a bullet at or driven over each of these, to kill them, four more Boeings will come flying into view from the left and right sides of the screen while dropping bombs on you. Once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come to another gate in front of you - and once you've fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you will have to pass through it, as four more Ochre Tanks emerge from the wall on the left side of the screen and start moving towards you while shooting flames at you. Once you have fired enough bullets or driven over each of them, to kill them, four more Hurricanes will come flying into view from the top of the screen, and circle around above Vanguard, while dropping bombs on it; once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward as you come to a third gate in front of you. Once you have fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you will have to pass through it as you come up to a fifth Hyper Tank that is firing bullets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to destroy it, you will come to a third powerup box. Once you have fired a bullet at this to destroy it, it will leave a third "Oil" powerup behind; once you have collected it, it will refill a third quarter of Vanguard's fuel meter. You will then have to continue moving forward as two Trucks emerge from the wall on the left side of the screen and fire bullets at you - and once you've fired off bullet at or driven over both of them, to kill them, you will come up to a fifth Ochre Artillery that is firing bullets at you. Once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over it to kill it, you will have to continue moving forward as you come to a fourth gate in front of you; once you've fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you'll have to pass through it as three more Concordes come flying into view from the left side of the screen and drop bombs on you. Once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of these to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come up to two more Ochre Artilleries that are firing bullets at you - and once you have fired enough bullets at or driven over both of them to kill them four more Concordes will come flying into view from the bottom of the screen and drop bombs on you. Once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward as you come to a fifth gate in front of you; once you have fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you'll have to pass through it as three more Killers come flying into view from the top of the screen and drop bombs on you. Once you've fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of these to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come to an enormous flame that is emerging from the wall on the left side of the screen (which will kill Vanguard if it touches it) - and once you have bypassed it, you will come to an Enormous Tank that's firing bullets at you from its left side. Once you've fired enough bullets at it to kill it (it is too big to be driven over), three more Killers will come flying into view from the left side of the screen and drop bombs on you; once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of them to kill them, you will come to a second Enormous Tank that's firing bullets at you from its left side. Once you have fired enough bullets at it to kill it (again, it is too big to be driven over), you will have to move to the right as you come up to a Bomb Cannon that is firing pellets at you - and once you have fired a bullet at or driven over it to kill it, three more Killers will come flying into view from the top, left side, and bottom of the screen, and drop bombs upon you. Once you have fired an anti-aircraft missile up at each of them to kill them, you will have to continue moving forward, as you come to a sixth gate in front of you; once you have fired enough bullets at it to destroy it, you will have to pass through it as you come to the text "STOP" on the ground (for a second time in the game) adjacent to Maiheriko's second launching pad (where it has reappeared after a three-mission absence); you will then receive 10 bonus points for every litre of fuel Vanguard has remaining for the second time in the game as its fuel meter gets emptied again and Maiheriko rises into the air.
