Basic Powerups[edit]

Bomb Up
Allows you to have one more bomb (up to six) in play at a time.
Fire Up
Increases the blast radius of your bombs (up to a maximum level of five).
Speed Up
Increases your walking speed (up to a maximum level of six).
Big Heart
Recovers one big heart of health; equivalent to four small hearts.
Small Heart
Recovers one small heart of health.
Twin Small Heart
Recovers two small hearts of health.
Heart Container
Increases your big heart capacity by one. You start out with three, and five of them can be found for a maximum of eight.
Lightning Card
Each normal stage has three of these cards hidden within, and each Crush Bomber battle lets you earn up to five cards. Collect enough Lightning Cards in a world, and if you get in trouble during that world's final boss fight, Max will step in to assist you, taking out some of the boss's health and leaving you a Big Heart to help you regain your strength.

Charabom Feed[edit]

Attack Up
Improves your Charabom's Attack by one.
Defense Up
Improves your Charabom's Defense (reducing damage from hits) by one.
Special Up
Improves your Charabom's Special Power by one.
Speed Up
Improves your Charabom's Speed (to help dodge attacks) by one.
All Up
Improves all your Charabom's stats by one, if able.

Battle Game[edit]

Bomb Up
Allows you to have one more bomb (up to eight) in play at a time.
Fire Up
Increases the blast radius of your bombs by one square (up to a maximum of eight).
Full Fire
Increases the blast radius to the maximum eight squares.
Speed Up
Increases your walking speed.
Speed Down
Decreases your walking speed.
Heart
Allows you to withstand one hit. Can only carry one at a time.
Safety Vest
Protects you from all damage for 16 seconds.
Bomb Punch
Allows you to punch bombs a distance of three squares away using X button.
Bomb Kick
Allows you to kick away bombs by running into them. If a kicked bomb runs into another kicked bomb, they combine into a Dangerous Bomb.
Curse
Inflicts a random curse on you for a length of time. Possible curses include the following:
Too Fast
Player moves too fast to control properly.
Too Slow
Player moves extremely slowly.
Loose Hands
Player drops bombs uncontrollably.
Hands Tied
Player can't drop any bombs.
No Power
Player reduced to minimum bomb ability (one bomb, one square radius).
Can't Stop
Player will continue moving without your direction unless an obstacle is hit.
Dizzy
Player responds to your controls backwards.
Short Fuse
Bombs explode very quickly.
Long Fuse
Bombs explode very slowly.
Swap
Player randomly switches places with another player.

You can only have one of the following powerups at a time. Picking up another removes the previous one.

Power Glove
Allows you to pick up bombs you just planted and throw them.
Super Power Glove
Allows you to pick up bombs you just planted and throw them. Holding the bomb for a while turns the bomb into a Dangerous Bomb.
Line Bomb
Pressing A button again just after planting a bomb turns the bomb into a line of bombs projecting in the direction you're facing, up to your current bomb limit.

You can only have one of the following powerups at a time. Picking up another removes the previous one.

Remote Control
Lets you detonate any bombs you plant at will using B button. Bombs detonate in chronological order, starting with the oldest.
Piercing Bomb
Bomb blasts continue onward through soft blocks until reaching their blast radius.
Power Bomb
The first bomb planted at a time will have the maximum blast radius. To plant another Power Bomb, all your other bombs must have gone off first.
Land Mine
The first bomb planted at a time will disappear into the ground, to be set off by the next person to step over it. To plant another Land Mine, all your other bombs (and the Land Mine) must have gone off first.
Bouncy Bomb
Any bomb you punch or kick will start bouncing randomly until it explodes.
