Once the background has reappeared in front of Hiromi, two Zako-020 will come hovering towards you; once you have fired a shot at both of them to kill them, five Zako-016 will come hovering towards you. Once you've fired a shot at each of them (to blow them up), they will run away from you - and once you have fired another shot at each of them to kill them you will come to four tall rocks in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, two more Zako-020 will come hovering towards you; once you have fired a shot at both of them to kill them, you will come to a jump zone, with a ring containing a "C" powerup above it. Once you've steered onto the jump zone and been catapulted through the ring (collecting the "C" powerup in the process), you will come to four more tall rocks on the left and right sides of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, three Zako-032 will be launched into the air as you approach them. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to three more tall rocks in the centre of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, a Zako-029 will come hovering towards you (while firing a projectile at you). Once you have fired a shot at it to kill it, you will come to six more tall rocks in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, three more Zako-032 will be launched into the air as you approach them, while two more Zako-029 come hovering up towards you while firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them a Zako-024 will approach you from behind and roll away from you while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at it to kill it you will come to an eighteenth tall rock in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired enough shots at this tall rock to destroy it, three more Zako-032 will be launched into the air as you approach them (while three more Zako-020 come hovering towards you) - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, an eighth Zako-020 will come hovering towards you, while a group of six Zako-036 flies away from you on the right side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to five more tall rocks on the right side of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, another group of six more Zako-036 will fly away from you, on the left side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to five more tall rocks, on the left side of the screen - and once you've fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks, to destroy them, four more groups of six more Zako-036 will fly away from you (in the centre of the screen). Once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you'll come to eight more tall rocks (on the left and right sides of the screen); once you have fired enough shots at each of the tall rocks to destroy them, two more Zako-020 will come hovering towards you, while a seventh group of six more Zako-036 flies away from you on that left side of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, an eighth group of six more Zako-036 will fly away from you on the right side of the screen - and once you've fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to another jump zone, with a second ring containing an "M" powerup above it. Once you've steered onto the jump zone and been catapulted through the ring (collecting the "M" powerup in the process), six more Zako-020 will come hovering towards you while four Zako-039 come flying towards you (while firing projectiles in six directions at you); once you have fired a shot or missile at each of them to kill them the area's boss character will come weaving towards you while spitting flames from its mouth at you. Once you have fired enough shots at the boss's head to defeat it, it will explode, and Hiromi will move to the centre of the screen as that text "AREA 2 CLEARED" appears above her - and you will now receive 10 bonus points for every tenth of a second you have remaining and go on to Area 3, where your scooter will be transformed into a flying ship for the second time in the game by the claw which has gone back to holding the cab-like attachment.
