Once the background has reappeared in front of Hiromi, eight Zako-005 will come hovering up towards you, while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, you will come to twelve lizard-like statues (which are the ones that took the name of "Zako-009") on the left and right side of the screen. Once you have fired enough shots at each of the "Zako-009" statues to destroy them, you will come to two vertically-oriented but horizontally-moving Zako-017 which are firing projectiles at you, from their positions on an archway, in the centre of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at both of them to kill them, you will come to a jump zone with a lamp-post which has a "W" powerup upon its left side and an "M" powerup on its right side in front of it. Once you have steered onto the jump zone, then been catapulted past that lamp-post (collecting the powerup of your choice in the process), you will come to twelve more "Zako-009" statues and twelve Bomb Launchers upon the left and right sides of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of the "Zako-009" statues to destroy them and a single shot at each of the Bomb Launchers to kill them, you shall come up to another jump zone, with two horizontally-oriented but vertically-moving Zako-017 firing projectiles at you from their positions on two posts on the left and right sides of the screen in front of it. Once you have steered on to the jump zone, and been catapulted past the two horizontally-oriented Zako-017, you will come to four more Bomb Launchers upon the left and right sides of the screen - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come to nine more Bomb Launchers, in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired a shot at each of these, to kill them, five more Zako-005 will come hovering towards you while firing projectiles at you; once you have fired a shot at each of them, to kill them, you will come up to seven more "Zako-009" statues and seven more Bomb Launchers, on the alternating left and right sides of the screen. Once you have fired enough shots at each of the "Zako-009" statues to destroy them and a single shot at each of the Bomb Launchers to kill them, eighteen more Zako-005 will come hovering up towards you while firing projectiles at you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them, to kill them, you will come to eight more "Zako-009" statues in the centre of the screen. Once you have fired enough shots at each of them to destroy them ten blown-up Zako-016 will drop down from the top of the screen and proceed to run away from you once they have landed; once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them, you will come up to six more "Zako-009" statues upon the left and right sides of the screen. Once you've fired off enough shots at each of them to destroy them, two Zako-046 will fly away from you upon the left and right sides of the screen as you come to eight more "Zako-009" statues in the centre of the screen - and once you fire a missile at both of the Zako-046 to kill them, and enough shots at each of the "Zako-009" statues to destroy them, the area's four bosses will appear in front of you and split up while spinning around, flying across the screen, doing somersaults, and firing projectiles at you. Once you have fired enough shots at each of the bosses to defeat them (and if you focus exclusively on the one that is spinning around, the other three will explode instantly, once you have fired enough shots at it to defeat it), they will explode, and Hiromi will move to the centre of the screen as that text "AREA 1 CLEARED" appears above her; you'll then receive 10 bonus points for every tenth of a second you have remaining and go on to Area 2 (which has a destructible Zako-043 as a boss).
