The Pack-A-Punch Machine is a weapon upgrader found in most Zombie mode maps in Black Ops and World at War from Map Pack 3 (Der Riese).

Details[edit]

It costs 5000 points to upgrade a weapon of the player's choice, but for some weapons this may not be a wise investment as the downsides for some players outweigh the increased ammunition supply and/or size of the clip and power. In order to commonly access the machine, Players first need to turn on the power and/or complete a special task to reach it. In Der Riese, all the teleporters must be linked, in Kino der Toten the power must be on, in Ascension all the Lunar landers must be activated and the Rocket blocking the entrance activated, in Shangri La pressure plates must be pressed down depending on the amount of players. In Call of the Dead the machine roams around the map like the Mystery Box and in Moon, players must use the teleporter from the moon base to Area 51 to access, thought the machine does not need the power to be turned on.

Awful Lawton Crossbow 12 1 Upgraded Crossbow with Explosive tip. Attracts zombies to arrow before detonating. Increased damage and detonation time.
Zeus Cannon Wonder weapon 24 4 Upgraded Thunder Gun. Increased range, doubled magazine and ammo capacity.
Winter's Fury Wonder Weapon 36 9 Upgraded Winter's Howl. Increased freeze time, increased ammo and magazine capacity. Can be used when down, provided the player has ammo.
V-R11 Lazarus Wonder Weapon 18 6 Upgraded V-R11. Doubled ammo and magazine capacity. Can "kill" George A. Romero for 2 rounds. When teammate is shot, the shot player gains instakill ability for 5 seconds. This effect can stack with every shot.
Hyena Infra-red Wonder Weapon 30 6 Upgraded Scavenger. Doubled ammo and magazine capacity. Increased damage and splash damage.
The Fractalizer Wonder Weapon. 40 8 Upgraded 31-79 JGb215. Shrinking effect lasts much longer and doubled ammo capacity and increased magazine capacity.
Max Wave Gun (Dual wield is Porter's X2 Zap wield gun) Wonder Weapon 24, 100 Zap wield gun 4, 12+12 Zap wield gun Upgraded Wave Gun. Can snap apart to dual wield. Increased ammo and magazine capacity. Dual wielded Zap gun can be used when down, provided the player has ammo.

Useful tips[edit]

  • When using the Mustang & Sally, grenade launchers and Ray Gun, it may be wise to obtain PhD flopper as firing in closed quarters without it can potentially down players quickly, even with Juggernog.
  • If your Tokyo & Rose or any other dual wielded weapon is used, it is recommended up to the mid 20s to fire off one side of the gun. Not only does this stave off ammo shortages, it will still provide you with high powered weapons to fend off the horde.
  • The Krauss Refibrillator is a valuable upgrade if you specialize in knifing and need to revive players quickly and even with Quick Revive do not have the time to do so, as one shot from the ballistic knife instantly revives a player, provided you have the time to do so.
