Soften resistance for the ground assault[edit]

When you start the mission, you will be in control of the Mark 19 grenade launcher, this is a very powerful weapon with unlimited ammunition, the only downside is that if you shoot it too much with no breaks, it will overheat, giving your enemies a chance to shoot at you with no retaliation.

Destroy all the tanks quickly, then get the 2 bunkers to your left.

After the tanks on the bridge are destroyed, get ready, there will be 4 tanks that you need to destroy. Just afterwards, there will be 2 bunkers on the rooftops to take out. Afterwards, keep looking on the rooftops for a few enemies with RPGs. You will eventually go to an open area with a statue and a lot of men rushing past it, shoot as many of those men as you can, then start attacking the 2 tanks on the left hand side.

After they are dispatched, you will have to deal with a few RPGers on the rooftops. After a few shots at the RPGers, divert your attention to an anti-air battery to the left. soon after, there will be another on the corner of a building. Take care of it then attack the tank and the petrol tanker. Swivel round and you will find one tank on one road and two more on another, take these out then attack some RPGers on the rooftops again. A few troops will emerge form a car-park, kill them, check to the right for tanks then wait for a while as you land and two tanks go past. After you take off again, your troops on the ground will start firing at enemies in a building, kill most of these then wait for a while. When you start seeing the green smoke, watch out for RPgers, there will also be ground troops, take out as many of these as you can to make your job easier.

Assist and extract the advance recon team[edit]

Aim down the doorway and wait for a lot of easy kills.

After you have dropped off from the helicopter, your team will engage the enemy, there will be a wall to your left, fire through the passageway in this, wait for the area to go quiet then rush past the wooden wall to the left and take cover with your team-mates behind a brick wall, when the area goes quiet again, go forward facing round the corner, there might be 2 enemies so be careful. Afterwards, inside the building on the first floor is around 5 enemies and above them is the recon team. Pick up a G3 for later then aim down your sights with either gun at the door, do not go in. The enemies will come to you one at a time from straight in front of the door, behind the wooden wall. You should be able to see them coming and you might want to throw a grenade or shoot through the wall if you are having trouble. You also have your grenade launcher with 10 shots, this may come in handy here as there are not that many places to use this. After you have killed all of the enemies, go up the stairs and meet with the team.

Proceed to the LZ[edit]

Wait until there are no enemies.
After you step down, there are a lot of enemies to kill (most of them respawn).

You will be on the top floor of a building, there will be a few enemies coming from helicopter and a few on the ground. Shoot the troops as they are rappelling down. There will be a building to the right with two windows, after your team has taken out all of the enemies, this is your target. Even though it seems calm, whenever you step from the building, a lot of enemies will spawn. There are 2 main options, the first one is to rush behind the crate and try to take out all of the enemies in the bottom floor of the house before rushing in and going out from the other side while getting most of the enemy troops from behind. You could also rush straight to the fence to the left and try to kill most enemies from there, you will have to watch out for an enemy that appears on a balcony above you and a lot of enemies to your right. The third thing that you can try is risky but it seems to work well, as you go over the edge, jump on to the top of the fence then sprint into the house, clear out any enemies that are there then go round the back and clear it out. This tactic causes less enemies to spawn because you rush there which will make the journey a lot easier but if you don't do it fast enough then you will have a lot of trouble. When the house is clear rush through and take out the remaining enemies using the same method. After you have killed them all, proceed to the LZ but be on guard, there are about 3 enemies halfway there, leave your team to go ahead first. After these, you are safe to sprint to the helicopter.

Get back on the Mark 19 grenade launcher[edit]

Aim for any ground troops that you see at this point, there are not many, apart from at one point after the helicopter has crashed when there are some troops with RPGs on the rooftops. When you come to land there will be a few troops, take care of these then get ready to sprint.

Rescue the downed Cobra pilot[edit]

It seems that you can survive a lot more bullet impacts than normal while carrying the pilot.

Once you have landed, you have 90 seconds to get the pilot to safety, this is fairly easy if you move quickly and can be done in around 30 seconds, when you are getting to the pilot, stick to the left, there should be 2 enemies but they won't pose much of a threat, keep on sprinting to the pilot then pick her up, stick to the same side on the way back and don't stop for anything, you should easily get back to the helicopter. Now sit back and watch the cutscene.
