World 1: "MORNING FOREST"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Welcome to the Beginner Course. Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen (and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green) the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze, and the timer will start counting down; you will then have to rotate the maze 90 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall onto the second wall, rotate it 90 more degrees clockwise (to make it fall onto the third wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the fourth wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the fifth wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the sixth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the seventh wall (which, because it is slanted, it shall roll down it of its own accord, and fall down onto the eighth wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make it roll down the (again-slanted) eighth wall and fall onto the ninth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto one of a group of four blocks and destroy it for 1000 extra points, and fall down through the hole onto the tenth wall. Once you do so, you have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make the ball fall down onto the eleventh wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the twelfth wall (which, because it is once again slanted it will once again roll down it of its own accord), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the thirteenth wall (while watching out for four "Timer Down" wall tiles), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise and make it fall down onto the fourteenth wall, and rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the goal point - and once you have done it, the text "WORLD 1 COMPLETE!" will appear on the screen as the camera zooms in on the maze while rotating in anticlockwise direction until it has disappeared. The text "LAP TIME" shall now get displayed on the screen with the text "X'XX"XX" (and "A NEW RECORD", given that the first best lap time is, again, more than the starting time, so you will again have no choice but to usurp it, but it will still be reset when the cabinet is turned off, because Taito's F2 games do not use NVRAM) next to it; below that the text "TIME BONUS" will be displayed with the text "XX.X SEC X 100 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0 being your remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive a bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 100. Below that the text "TIME EXTEND +35 SEC." will be displayed as your remaining time is extended by thirty-five seconds - and the text "GO TO NEXT WORLD!" shall appear at the screen's bottom.

World 2: "AQUA PALACE"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green, the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze and the timer will start counting down again; you'll then have to rotate the maze 180 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down onto two of a group of four blocks, and destroy them for 1000 extra points apiece, then fall down onto one of a third group of two more blocks (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points), and fall down through the hole onto the second wall. You'll then have to rotate the maze back a few degrees anticlockwise to make the ball roll down the (slanted) second wall, while watching out for a "Timer Down" wall tile, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise to make it roll down onto the third wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall onto the next four walls in succession (while watching out for two more "Timer Down" wall tiles), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto a question block (and destroy it for five extra seconds), and fall down onto the eighth wall. Once you do so, you shall have to rotate the maze back a few degrees anticlockwise to make the ball roll down the (again-slanted) eighth wall onto the ninth wall (which because it's once again slanted, it will roll down it of its own accord onto the tenth wall), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise, to make it fall down onto the eleventh wall (while watching for a fourth "Timer Down" wall tile), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down then rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise (before it falls too far) to make it land on the thirteenth wall (which, because it is yet again slanted, it will yet again roll down it of its own accord onto the fourteenth wall, and because the fourteenth wall is for a fifth time slanted, it shall for the fifth time roll down it of its own accord onto the fifteenth wall, which is in turn for a sixth time slanted so it will for a sixth time roll down it onto the sixteenth wall), rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise, to make it fall down onto the seventeenth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise, to make it fall down to the eighteenth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise, to make it fall down onto the nineteenth wall (while watching for fifth "Timer Down" wall tile), rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise to make it fall down and rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise (again, before it falls too far) to make it land on the twentieth wall (while watching for two more "Timer Down" wall tiles), and rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the goal point - and once you do so, the text "WORLD 2 COMPLETE!" shall appear on the screen, as the camera zooms in on the maze while rotating in an anticlockwise direction until it has disappeared. The text "LAP TIME" shall now be displayed on the screen with the text "X'XX"XX" (and, if you had usurped the best lap time, "A NEW RECORD") next to it; below it, the text "TIME BONUS" will get displayed, with the text "XX.X SEC X 200 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0 again being the remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive a bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 200. Below that, the text "TIME EXTEND +35 SEC." will get displayed as your remaining time is again extended by thirty-five seconds - and the text "GO TO NEXT WORLD!" shall now be displayed at the bottom of the screen for the second time.

World 3: "HIGH SPEED CIRCUIT"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze and the timer will start counting down again; you will then have to rotate the maze 90 degrees anticlockwise to make the ball fall down onto a single block (and destroy it for 1000 extra points), then fall down onto the second wall (which, because it is slanted, it shall roll down it of its own accord). Once you've done so, you will have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees clockwise, to make the ball fall down onto one of a group of four more blocks (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points!), fall through the hole onto a second single block (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points!), and fall down onto the third wall (which, because it's again slanted, it'll again roll down it of its own accord to the fourth wall, which in turn is once again slanted so it'll once again roll down it of its own accord!) - and you will then have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees clockwise, to make the ball fall down onto the fourth wall (ignoring another group of eighteen more blocks, and because that fourth wall is yet again slanted, it will yet again roll down it of its own accord and fall down onto a third singular block to destroy it for 1000 more extra points), and fall down onto the fifth wall (which is in turn for a fifth time slanted so it will for a fifth time roll down it of its own accord and destroy a fourth single block for 1000 more extra points). Once you have done so, you must rotate the maze back 90 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall onto the sixth wall (ignoring a fifth single block, and because the sixth wall's for a sixth time slanted, it shall for a sixth time roll down it by itself), rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise to make it fall down to the seventh wall (which, because it's for a seventh time slanted, it'll roll down it by itself for a seventh time, and destroy a sixth single block for 1000 more extra points), and fall down onto the eighth wall (ignoring a third group of nine more blocks, and because the eighth wall is for an eighth time slanted it will for an eighth time roll down it of its own accord, and destroy nine more blocks for 1000 more extra points apiece); you will then have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make the ball fall down onto two more single blocks (destroying them for 1000 more extra points apiece), and fall down onto the ninth wall (which, because it's for a ninth time slanted, it'll for a ninth time roll down it, of its own accord). Once you have done so, you will have to rotate the maze back 180 degrees anticlockwise, to make the ball fall onto the tenth wall (which, because it's for a tenth time slanted, it will roll down it of its own accord and destroy a ninth single block for 1000 more extra points, then fall down onto the eleventh wall, which is in turn for an eleventh time slanted, meaning it will for an eleventh time roll down it of its own accord) - and you'll then have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down onto a tenth single block (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points), and fall down onto the twelfth wall (ignoring two more single blocks, and because the twelfth wall is for a twelfth time slanted, it will for a twelfth time roll down it, of its own accord). Once you have done this, you shall have to rotate the maze back 90 more degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down to the thirteenth wall (ignoring a thirteenth singular block and because the thirteenth wall is for a thirteenth and last time slanted, it will for a thirteenth and last time roll down it by itself), and rotate it 90 more degrees clockwise for making it fall down onto the goal point; once you've done so, the text "WORLD 3 COMPLETE!" will appear on the screen, as the camera zooms in upon the maze while rotating anticlockwise until it disappears. The text "LAP TIME" will then get displayed on the screen with the text "X'XX"XX" (and again, if you'd usurped the best lap time, "A NEW RECORD") next to it - and below that, the text "TIME BONUS" will be displayed with the text "XX.X SEC X 300 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0, once again, being your remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive the bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 300. Below that the text "TIME EXTEND +35 SEC." will be displayed as your remaining time is once again extended by thirty-five seconds; the text "GO TO NEXT WORLD!" shall now be displayed at the bottom of the screen for the third time on this course.

World 4: "MENTHOL MOON"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green, the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze and the timer shall start counting down again; you'll then have to rotate the maze 90 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down onto the second wall, rotate it a few more degrees clockwise (and make it fall down onto the third wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the next three walls in turn, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise for to make it fall down onto the next three walls in turn, rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the twelfth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down, then rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise before it falls too far to make it pass a changing barrier (if it lands on it while it is red and saying "STOP! STOP!", you shall have to wait until it changes its colour and phrase to green and "GO! GO!" before it will pass through it) and fall down onto the thirteenth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the fourteenth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down to the fifteenth wall (while watching out for two "Timer Down" wall tiles), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise, to make it fall down to the sixteenth wall, rotate it back a few degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the seventeenth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise (to make it fall down to the eighteenth wall), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise, to make it fall down onto the nineteenth wall, then rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise, to make it fall down onto a bumper (which it will bounce off for 500 extra points and fall down onto the twentieth wall). Once you have done so, you will have to rotate the maze back a few degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down to the twenty-first wall, rotate it back a few degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down to the twenty-second wall, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the twenty-third wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise to make it fall onto one of a group of two blocks (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points), and fall down through the hole onto the twenty-fourth wall - and you will then have to rotate the maze back a few more degrees clockwise, to make the ball fall down, then rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise (again, before it falls too far) to make it fall down onto the twenty-fifth wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down, then rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise (to avoid it landing on one of two more "Timer Down" wall tiles!), and fall down onto the goal point; once you have done it, the text "WORLD 4 COMPLETE!" shall appear on the screen as the camera zooms in on the maze while rotating in an anticlockwise direction until it disappears. The text "LAP TIME" will now be displayed upon the screen with the text "X'XX"XX" (and once again, if you had usurped the best lap time, "A NEW RECORD") next to it - and below that, the text "TIME BONUS" will be displayed, with the text "XX.X SEC X 400 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0 yet again being your remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive the bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 400. Below that, the text "TIME EXTEND +35 SEC." shall be displayed as your remaining time is yet again extended by thirty-five seconds; below that, the text "GO TO NEXT WORLD!" will appear.

World 5: "SPACE WALKER"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen (and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green), the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze (and the timer will start counting down again); you will then have to rotate the maze 90 degrees anticlockwise to make the ball fall down onto the second wall, rotate it 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the third wall, rotate it 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall onto each of the next five walls in turn, rotate it 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall onto each of the next two walls in turn, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall onto the next three walls in turn, rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise to make it fall onto the fourteenth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise, to make it fall onto the fifteenth wall, rotate it back few degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down to the sixteenth wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise for to make it fall down onto the seventeenth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise for to make it fall down onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it back 180 more degrees either way to make it fall down onto the twentieth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise (to make it fall down to the twenty-first wall), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the next four walls in turn, rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise (to make it fall down to the next two walls in turn), rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise, to make it fall onto the twenty-eighth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise, to make it fall down to the twenty-ninth wall, rotate it back a few degrees anticlockwise (to make it fall down onto the next three walls in turn), rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the next four walls in turn, rotate it back few degrees clockwise (to make it fall down onto the thirty-seventh wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the thirty-eighth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the thirty-ninth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise (to make it fall onto the fortieth wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the forty-first wall, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto three single blocks (and destroy them for 1000 extra points apiece!), and land on the forty-second wall. Once you've done so, you will have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make the ball roll into a fourth single block with the text "+3" on it, and destroy it for three extra seconds, then rotate it back 180 more degrees either way to make it fall down onto one of a group made up of six more blocks (and destroy it for 1000 more extra points!), and fall through the hole onto the goal point - and once you have done so, the text "WORLD 5 COMPLETE!" will appear on the screen, as the camera zooms in on the maze while rotating anticlockwise until it disappears. The text "LAP TIME" will then be displayed on the screen with the text "X'XX"XX" (and for a fifth time, if you had usurped the best lap time "A NEW RECORD") next to it; below that the text "TIME BONUS" will be displayed with the text "XX.X SEC X 500 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0 for a fifth time being your remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive the bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 500. Below that, the text "TIME EXTEND +35 SEC." will be displayed as your remaining time is (for a fifth, and penultimate, time) extended by thirty-five seconds - and the text "GO TO NEXT WORLD!" shall now get displayed at the bottom of the screen for the fifth and penultimate time, followed by the text of "FINAL TRIAL".

World 6: "TRICK TRAP TRACK"[edit]

Best lap: 0'60"0

Once the maze and ball have appeared on the screen (and the starting light has changed from red to yellow to green), the ball will fall down onto the first wall of the maze (and the timer will start counting down again); you will then have to rotate the maze 90 degrees anticlockwise to make the ball fall down onto the second wall (and collect a 1000-point arrow!), rotate it 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the fifth wall, rotate it a few more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it back few degrees clockwise to make it fall down to the next two walls in turn, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the twelfth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise to make it fall onto the thirteenth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down to the fourteenth wall (and collect a second 1000-point arrow), rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the fifteenth wall (and collect a third 1000-point arrow), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the sixteenth wall (which because it is slanted, it will roll down of its own accord), rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall onto the seventeenth wall (and collect a fourth 1000-point arrow), rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall onto the eighteenth wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall onto the next two walls in turn, rotate it back a few degrees clockwise to make it fall down onto the twenty-first wall, rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the twenty-second wall and rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down to a bumper (which it will bounce off for 500 more extra points and fall onto the twenty-third wall). Once you've done so you will have to rotate the maze back 90 degrees clockwise to make the ball fall down onto the twenty-fourth wall, rotate it back a few more degrees clockwise (to make it fall onto the twenty-fifth wall), rotate it back 90 degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the twenty-sixth wall (and collect four more 1000-point arrows), rotate it back 90 more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the twenty-seventh wall, rotate it back a few more degrees anticlockwise, to make it fall down onto the next four walls in turn, rotate it back 90 degrees clockwise, to make it fall onto the thirty-second wall, rotate it back 90 more degrees clockwise, to make it fall down to the thirty-third wall, and rotate it back 180 degrees anticlockwise to make it fall down onto the goal point (and collect two more 1000-point arrows) - and once you've done it, the text "WORLD 6 COMPLETE!" will appear on the screen as the camera zooms in on the maze while rotating anticlockwise until it disappears. The text "LAP TIME" shall then be displayed on the screen, with the text "X'XX"XX" (and for a sixth and final time, if you had usurped the best lap time, "A NEW RECORD") next to it - and below that, the text "TIME BONUS" is displayed, with the text "XX.X SEC X 600 = XXX0 POINTS"" (XX.X and XXX0, for the final time, being your remaining time and resulting bonus respectively) next to it as you receive a bonus of your remaining time multiplied by 600. A "Congratulations!" text now zooms out while rotating in clockwise direction and the text "SCORE: XXXX0" (XXXX0 being your final score) and "TOTAL TIME: X MIN XX.X SEC (X and XX.X being your total game time) appears below it; the text "NICE PLAY!" will then get displayed on the screen, with a picture of the ball (and a second, red, bow-wearing, possibly female, ball) standing on a rock at night with a playing-card heart above them, and the text "THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER." below it. Also, you should remember that if you press and hold the Jump Button while the game is displaying this screen, it will proceed to the credits:

The A in the company's name is represented by their then-current triangular logo (which was introduced in 1988); the game will then go into high-score mode. Your score shall most likely be the highest one on the cabinet for this course to date, so you should enter your initials at the top of the table with pride (by turning the rotary controller left and right to scroll back and forth through the line of letters, then pressing the Jump Button to enter them when the correct one is selected) - and once you have done it, the camera will zoom in on the text "GAME OVER" while rotating in an anticlockwise direction and the game will go back into attract mode. You will now have to move on to the Expert Course which is composed of eight rounds as opposed to six.
