Prince of Persia is an action-adventure video game series created by Jordan Mechner. Through the various titles, the series has had a variety of different developers and publishers. Although originally a side-scrolling platforming game, the series has since evolved into an action-adventure 3D environment.
The series was rebooted with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, developed and published by Ubisoft. The game was then part of a trilogy, called The Sands of Time Trilogy, in which all games have a time-traveling gameplay element.
The series was rebooted again with 2008's Prince of Persia.
