Armours in Children of Mana increase your defence. Depending on which character you've chosen, he or she can either equip armours (by Wanderer and Ferrick) or robes (by Tamber and Poppen), and like the weapons, have a level that only after you have reached can you equip it. There are also a few character-specific armours that only one character can equip — can you imagine Wanderer equipping a dress? Hopefully not!
