CPG FC map Area 2.png

Great for grinding[edit]

In the starting area, you will only be attacked by winged creatures that fly down from the ceiling, and then across once they reach your height. They are easily killed with one swing, and they drop P chips here. In fact, when you reach the fourth pillar from the start, they come out in groups of two. This makes the fourth pillar an excellent location to stand still and destroy the creatures until you level up or improve your blade. You should be able to reach Level 6 fairly quickly, and if you're extremely patients, reach the 400 blade experience point mark to increase the Metal Blade to Rank A, but it's not entirely necessary. When you reach the seventh pillar, you will fall through the false ground into the pit below.

Finding parts[edit]

Dropping down into the pit, take out the two Caterpillars, and start descending. After the first two-faced rock, you'll see a second one on a ledge that is too high up for you to reach by jumping. Ignore it for now, and keep dropping to the bottom. You can safely drop into the water and travel to the left. In the next corridor, a giant yellow shrimp-like creature will leap out of the water. It fires a bullet at you at the height of it's jump and then drops back down beneath the water briefly before leaping out again. It takes four hits to defeat it with a Rank B Metal Blade. Get past the winged creatures to room M1 at the end. The cosmo police inside will say he needs parts to finish the project he's working on.

Since you can't help him yet, return to the right, but remember this location. Go all the way back to the bottom of the pit you fell into, and continue on to the right. In the next room, you'll encounter a red version of the shrimp you met earlier, as well as another creature which wades through the water and occasionally fires a beam at you. This creature takes 6 hits from a Rank B Metal Blade to defeat. You should take it on first before worrying about the shrimp. Make your way to the right side of this room, but note the waterfall that you pass along the way.

You'll end up at the bottom of an elevator shaft. You can explore the room to the right first if you wish. After you defeat a yellow version of the beam thrower and another shrimp, you'll need to blast open the red gate with three Hyper Ray shots. At M2, you'll find a cosmo police who tells you that a new entrance will appear when the waterfall stops flowing. Keep that in mind and head back to the elevator shaft.

Begin riding the elevator up. Be prepared to react to the caterpillars and two-faced rocks that shoot at you on your way up. When you see an entrance to the right, take it. It's recommended that you have a full GP meter at this point. You will end up in a room with a large grey beast that slightly resembles an upright griffon. It walks along the floor, making an occasional jump to the ceiling. Your aren't required to destroy it, but you can if you have plenty of health. Continue to the right.

When you arrive in the next room, the door behind you will seal up. You will be trapped inside this room with two bubble monsters. They are just like the one that you fought in Area 1 that gave you the Cosmo Power. This time you must defeat both of them in order to escape. Push the first one back until it won't retreat anymore and destroy it. Then lure the second one into the water before cornering it against the rocks behind it. When you defeat them, you will obtain the Cosmo Parts.

Parts for Boots[edit]

With the parts in hand, return to the elevator shaft. You could retrace your steps and go right back to M1 the one way you came, or you can explore a little bit more. If you like, ride the elevator to the top. Take out the caterpillar and head to the right. You'll pass through a section with winged creatures and a griffon. If your Metal Blade is not Rank A yet, you may wish to avoid tangling with the griffon if your health is low. Shoot the gate three times with the Hyper Ray and step inside M3. The cosmo police inside will tell you hit the floor of the room with no enemies with the Capsule Bomber.

Return to the elevator shaft and head left. Notice that you will be passing through a room with no enemies. Keep going right, and you will encounter a trio of griffons. The griffons drop HP capsules in case you need more health. Beyond that are the winged creatures. Note that the Metal Blade should be close to Rank A by now if it's not already, so it may be worthwhile to sit and fight winged creatures until the blade improves.

Keep running left until you fall through the false floor again. Drop to the bottom and make your way back to M1 on the left. When you return, you'll give the Parts to the man inside, and you'll get the Cosmo Boots in return. Now you can jump higher. If you leave and return to his room, he will also inform you that you can damage the boss when it changes color.

Another crystal and blade[edit]

With these boots, you can return to the pit and make your way back up to the two-faced rock that was too high for you to reach. Now you can reach it, and access the red gate behind it. Shoot it with three Hyper Ray shots and enter. The cosmo police inside M4 will give you the Moon Crystal. If you leave and return to his room, he will also inform you that you need the Cosmo Boomerang to defeat the boss.

At this point, there's no new paths to explore, so it's time to try and make one. One of the captured police told you that a path will open when the waterfall stops. Return to the waterfall in the middle of the bottom corridor (marked with a C on the map). When you're standing near it, activate your new Moon Crystal, and the waterfall will suddenly stop. Now you need to find the location of the new path.

CPG FC area 2 screen 4.png

This new path actually opened up just outside of M1 (marked with an E on the map). If you return there, you will discover a new elevator where there was none. Ride it down to the bottom of a new pit. At the bottom, you will see two red gates to either side. First, examine the one on the right. If you're at full health (and preferably have armor), step inside B2 to find another mini-boss, a crocodile like creature which spits fire at you. It backs away from you as you approach it, so it's easy to corner it against the door. Hit it with your blade until it's defeated, and you will earn the Fire Blade. Assuming your Metal Blade is at Rank A, switch to the Fire Blade to start improving it.

The door beyond the mini-boss actually leads to the area boss which you're not ready for yet, so head back out to the left. At the bottom of the pit, shoot the left gate with the Hyper Ray. Step inside, and you will find W1, the first warp gate to another dimension.

Capsule Bomber[edit]

Once you arrive, head to the right. You will encounter a walking flower that spread pollen around, as well as bats. You will come to an elevator. If you are low on health, or if you're the patient type who would like to improve the Fire Blade to Rank B, ride the elevator to the floor above. Mushrooms fall in both the left and right rooms. The ones that fall on the left drop P-chips, and the ones on the right drop HP capsules. You'll need 140 blade experience points to increase the Fire Blade to Rank B.

When you're ready, take either elevator back down to the bottom level. In the lower right room, you must careful jump from island to island in order to avoid falling into the lava below. Watch out for bats before you jump. If you make it all the way across, you will end up in a room with a green head.

The green head will ask you if you want to fight. If you say no, it will laugh at you and let you out. If you say yes, the battle will start. The head simply flies around in a circle, occasionally spitting a bomb in your direction. Simply stand to the left of the edge of the circle and keep stabbing it as it passes by. Jump the bombs that fly your way to avoid damage. When you defeat the head, you'll earn the Capsule Bomber.

Head back to the left and take either elevator to the top. If you run to the far left, you'll only end up trapped in a room with a bat and a walking flower. The room will open up when you defeat them. Instead, run to the far right to find the warp gate that takes you back to your home dimension.

A second warp gate[edit]

Now that you're back, it's time to recall another hint you received: use the Capsule Bomber in a room with no enemies. That room can be found at the top of the long elevator shaft, off to the left. Head to the room marked E2 on the map. When you arrive, switch to the Capsule Bomber weapon, and toss one down around the ground in the middle of the room. If you hit the right spot, a new elevator will appear.

Ride the elevator down to the bottom and enter the room to the right. This room contains a large number of the shrimp and beam shooter creatures that occupy the water. Fight your way to the right side of the corridor until you find another waterfall at a dead-end. As before, if you use the Moon Crystal, this waterfall will stop falling. Only this time, it will reveal a new warp gate. Jump in to access another part of the other dimension.

Finding the boomerang[edit]

CPG FC area 2 screen 6.png

You know that you need a boomerang to defeat the boss, and this is the place to find it. Head to the left, and you'll immediately come across an elevator. If you have a full GP meter, head down. Otherwise, fight some mushrooms to the left of the elevator until your meter is full, and then head down. On the level below, head all the way to the right.

You'll enter a room with a mini-boss that resembles the one you got the Fire Blade from. It will ask you if you're Galivan. If you say no, it will politely allow you to leave. If you say yes, it will exclaim that you'll never defeat Lord Madius and start attacking. The strategy to defeat it is the same as the one before; back it into a corner and hit it until it dies. If you succeed, you'll earn the Cosmo Boomerang.

Now you must return home. Head to the left, and take the elevator back up, as there's little to no reason to continue all the way to the left. Back on the top floor, run to the left. (If you're close to reaching Level 7, you may wish to stick around and fight mushrooms until you level up.) In the next room, you will have to once again carefully leap from island to island over a bed of lava. Blobs of magma fountain out from the bottom as you jump across. If you make it all the way across, you'll find the warp gate that takes you back.

Reaching the boss[edit]

Upon your return, you will be dumped unceremoniously into the water below, amidst more water creatures. Destroy them and make your way back to the elevator on the right, and ride it up to the top. Your goal is to make it back to the elevator that led to the first warp gate (marked E on the map), which you can do by going either right or left.

When you reach the bottom of that elevator, head to the right to the room where you fought the mini-boss to obtain the Fire Blade, and pass through to the right. You will now be in the boss' room.

Defeating the boss[edit]

CPG FC area 2 screen 7.png

The room is occupied by a few land masses that are surrounded by lava. The boss will phase in when you reach the island in the middle of the room. Initially, the boss will be grey. In order to do any damage to it, you must first strike the head of the boss with the Cosmo Boomerang three times. Once you hit the head three times, it will turn purple, meaning you can defeat it. The boss flies around in a pattern, moving to the left or right side of the room depending on which side you are standing in. You can only damage the head with the Fire Blade, but likewise, only the head can damage you. You can safely move through the tail. The safest way to beat this boss is to stand all the way on the right side of the room. The boss will fly up to the ceiling, and then come back down alongside you. Jump up and strike overhead as it's coming down, switching to horizontal strikes when it's closer to the ground. Hit it as many times as you can on the way down before it flies away. Watch out for the projectiles it shoots at you, and keep waiting patiently on the right side until the boss is defeated.
