Finding a warp gate[edit]

Walking to the left, you'll encounter the first new enemy of the area, a humanoid wielding a ball and chain like a whip. Defeat it and continue on to the left. In the next room, you'll encounter another humanoid, as well as a wheel that floats in a circle and fires projectiles in four diagonal direction. Destroy them both to continue on. Ride the elevator up to the top, and shoot the red gate on the left three times with your Hyper Ray. The Cosmo Police captured inside tells you about flying with the Jet Boots, and using the Cosmo Crystal in the middle of a barrier.

Exit and head to the right. In the next room, you'll encounter robots that fire projectiles which start out high enough to duck under, but they begin to fall away and drop through floors. In the next elevator shaft, the bottom appears to dead-end, so head up for now. Open the first red gate that you find with the Hyper Ray, and inside you'll find a Cosmo Police who informs you that a nearby wall can be destroyed with the Prism Wave.

Return to the elevator, and ride it up to the next passage that you find to the left. Run through and destroy the robots. At the bottom of the new elevator shaft, shoot the red gate with the Hyper Ray to find a Cosmo Police inside who tells you to use the Earth Crystal near a false warp gate to make a real warp gate appear. Then return to the elevator and ride it as high as you can. Take the passage to the right.

When you enter this section, you will notice that the ceiling glows and your health is slowly drained while you walk through the corridor. It is at this time that you should activate your Barrier Shield item to stop the loss of health. Then fight your way over to the right, past the jet pack guards and the robot. In the next room, you'll find a new enemy, an eyeball on a stalk that simply patrols back and forth. Clear it, and in this room that looks like it should have a warp gate, use the Earth Crystal to make one appear.

The Prism Wave[edit]

From the start, head to the right. The usual ghost and scorpion appear here, but lava bursts will appear out of the floor, so you'll have to be careful timing your way across the floor. Take the elevator down, but avoid going to the left as it only leads to a dead-end. Make your way across the lava, dealing with the floating electrical creatures that get in your way. More electric creatures appear in the next corridor. Watch out for them and the bubble monster that appears on the right. In the next room, a medusa mini-boss will challenge you to a fight. She will attack you regardless of how you respond. This fight will be similar to the other medusa head fights in the past. However, this one fires a wave-like projectile that you can usually duck beneath if you are close. When you defeat the head, you will receive the Prism Wave.

Return back to the left, take the elevator up, and continue on to the right. When you encounter another elevator, ride it up since continuing to the right only leads to a dead-end. Likewise, you can reach the top and follow the path to the left, but that leads to a fight with a second medusa mini-boss that provides you with no reward for successfully defeating her. It's only worth heading down that way if you're grinding for experience points. If not, simply head to the right to find the warp gate that returns you home.

New passages[edit]

Now that you have the Prism Wave, it's time to follow one Cosmo Police's advice and use it to break open one of the walls. Return to M2 to locate the Cosmo Police who gave you this advice, and drop down to the very bottom of the elevator shaft. Switch to the Prism Wave, and shoot the wall to the right three times to create a new passage.

Clear away the enemies in the next corridor, and jump up from the bottom of the pit to the top. (The robot and the guard at the bottom of this pit drop HP and CP capsules respectively, so it's a good place to refuel.) Head into the next room on the left, and you'll been in a barrier room with a cyclops. You can activate Barrier Shield if you want to, but you should be able to defeat the Cyclops quickly enough to run into the next room without taking too much damage.

Run into the next room, and a machine will offer to tell you a secret for 1000 CP. If you say no, it will just open the door and disappear. If you say yes, it will take the 1000 CP and proceed to attack you. The only real danger is the large projectile that it shoots. You can corner it in the back of the room and strike it quickly enough to reduce the number of times it can attack. Once you defeat it, you will earn the Cosmo Crystal.

The bottom of the shaft is not the only location where you can use the Prism Wave to break the wall. You can also use it directly across from room M2. Fire three Prism Waves at the wall to create a new passage. You'll run through another corridor and pit just like the previous one below. However, when you enter the room at the top of the pit, you'll encounter the same mini-boss that gave you the Cosmo Crystal in a room with a barrier ceiling. When you arrive, activate the Barrier Shield (and it's not a bad idea to activate Auto-Protect as well) before defeating the mini-boss.

Defeat the mini-boss and the door on the left will open. Step inside, and you'll find another giant computer with a ceiling gun protecting it. Destroy the computer (and the gun if you like) and then return to the elevator shaft where you used the Prism Wave.

The power of flight[edit]

CPG FC area 5 screen 7.png

With the computer destroyed, it's time for you to ride this elevator all the way to the top. Get off and head to the right. You'll encounter two cyclops before you reach a passage in a wall that was created when the computer was destroyed. Head through, and ride the next elevator up to the top. Get off and go to the left and you'll be in another long barrier corridor. Activate the Barrier Shield before you proceed to the left.

Defeat the enemies in your way, and then jump up from the bottom of the next pit to the top and head right. Defeat the jet-pack guard and the circular machine to open the door to the right. In the next room, you'll encounter another one of the machine mini-bosses that have populated this area. It's in a barrier room, so activate your Barrier Shield before you attack. This boss is no different than any of the others, except that its projectile is extremely damaging, causing 400 points of damage with your armor on. Keep an eye on your health and activate a Life Capsule if necessary. Your reward for defeating the machine will be the Jet Boots.

The door that opens up to the right leads to the boss, but you're not quite ready to take it on yet. Instead, go all the way back to the elevator shaft right outside of M3. Ride the elevator all the way to the top. You may notice a jet-pack guard hovering above, just out of reach. If you activate your Jet Boots here, you can fly up and defeat it. Above it is a small section of barrier. Fly into it, and use the Cosmo Crystal here. The ground above will open up and allow you to fly higher. You'll encounter two jet-pack guards just below a new warp gate. Your Jet Boots may run out before you reach the gate, so just reactivate them if they do, fly up to the gate, and pass through to the next alien dimension.

A loop mystery[edit]

CPG FC map Area 5b.png

When you arrive, you can head to the left, and you will see an elevator. If you head down this elevator, you can go to the right or the left. However, regardless of which way you go, this lower section will endlessly loop around on itself. There is little point in investigating this area, as you won't find anything significant. Instead, skip the elevator, and continue running to the left, and you will discover what appears to be the warp gate back to your home dimension.

CPG FC area 5 screen 9.png

It turns out that this is the false warp gate alluded to earlier by one of the Cosmo Police that you met. When you return, activate the Jet Boots so that you can hover near the warp gate, and use the Earth Crystal to make another warp gate appear. However, doing it just once will not suffice. You'll have to do it two more times, three times in total, to make the real warp gate finally appear. You'll know you're in the right dimension when the background is black.

CPG FC map Area 5c.png

Head to the left, and ride the elevator down (the left is a dead-end). When you arrive, it will look similar to the looping dimension that you can access through the false warp gate. But if you head to the right, you'll find a Cosmo Police. He'll ask you if all of your blades are at Rank A, and tell you that if they are, the Cosmo Blade will combine the powers of all your blades, so he encourages you to get all of the blades to Rank A as quickly as possible.

Your next job is to cross over all the way to the left. You'll have to defeat a few electric creatures and a bubble monster to reach to corridors beyond. It's difficult to find health or CP down here, but the first electric ground creature drops HP and the bubble monster drops CP. The next two corridors are lava filled sections with islands and leaping dragons. If you have 200 CP to spare, you can make these sections very easy by activating the Jet Boots and passing them. If you skip the elevator and run to the left, you will find the warp gate home. But first, take the elevator up.

When you arrive, avoid the passage to the left. It leads to a fight with a medusa head that awards you nothing for defeating it. In this upper corridor, you will encounter floating heads. They each drop CP capsules. Head to the right, and you'll find a Cosmo Police who will give you the Hyper Blade. Naturally, it starts at Rank C, so you'll need to level it up, but this area is not a good area for doing so. Instead, return to the warp gate below and go back to your home dimension.

Preparing for the boss[edit]

It's a good idea to improve your Hyper Blade, and you'll probably be in need of health a CP. Return to the bottom of the pits beyond the areas where you destroyed the walls using the Prism Wave. Destroy the robot and jet-pack guard that you find at the bottom over and over to gain more HP and CP, as well as improve your blade. The guard-robot combo should provide you with 5 blade experience points each time, and it will take 200 blade experience points to improve the Hyper Blade to Rank B. Reaching Level 20 at 28,300 experience points is a good idea as well. If you're very patient, you'll need 800 blade experience points to get the Hyper Blade to Rank A, but that's not required at this time.

When you're ready, it's time to return to the room at the very top where you received the Jet Boots. Head back to that room and run through the door to encounter the stage boss.

Defeating the boss[edit]

CPG FC area 5 screen 10.png

The boss of this area resembles a gigantic fly. Naturally, it's quite tough. With your armor on, getting hit by the bug, it's downward flame, or its projectile will remove 500 health points, so be sure to have plenty of CP available to use the Life Capsule. When you arrive, you may notice that your blade cannot harm it. No one has told you so, but like many bosses before, you must change its color before you can harm it with the blade. To change its color, you must hit it with your latest weapon, the Prism Wave. However, the spot that you must hit is quite small, and only exists around its mouth. Jumping up and firing at the bug from a distance is safer, but its also harder to hit the bug properly. Standing beneath the bug and firing up makes it easier to hit, but you're more likely to take damage in the process. Once you hit the fly four times with the Prism Wave, it changes color, allowing you to strike it. You have the same problem of deciding whether to hit it from the side or below. Hitting from below has more risks, but you're more likely to be successful. If you're extremely fast, you can jump up and strike the bug several times before it moves or attacks. Sticking to this strategy means accepting that you will get hit, and that you will likely have to use Life Capsule to stay alive long enough to defeat the boss. Once it's dead, a passage to Area 6 will open up to the right.
