In this mission, you will need to launch an SOS beacon by attaching it to a floating asteroid, but you will first need to retrieve the beacon and a key card to reach the asteroid.

The tram drops you off at the Mining Deck, which is a set of four decks.

A Deck - Preparation[edit]

[1]

The tram drops you off here. Head down the corridor, but look on the left-hand side for a box containing a Power Node.

Enter the Rig Room. There may be some enemies here, but are easily handled. In the rig room, you can upgrade your weapons, and make other purchases at the store.

When you are ready, enter the elevator. Head to B Deck. While the elevator is moving, you will be attacked by necromorphs who drop down from the ceiling - first individually, then in a pair.

B Deck - Mineral Processing Area[edit]

The B Deck, the Mineral Processing Area is where you retrieve the key card.

Antechamber[edit]

The first room will have necromorphs on patrol, including one Pregnant. When the necromorphs are alerted, there will be the enemies approaching from in front, as well as those trying to flank you.

Mineral Processing[edit]

After the antechamber, head to the right. You can purchase items from a second store located here.

Your objective is the control room, but it is currently blocked. As you are informed over the radio, you need to move some boulders into the gravity beam. While you're doing so, you need to defend yourself from a few Lurkers and Leapers, but only in a small quantity. When all boulders are removed, you can head to the control station to reactivate gravity.

Activating gravity will trigger a large wave of Necromorphs approaching from two directions. If possible, aim for the exploders when they're near other necromorphs.

If you have a spare power cell, you could open the door next to the gravity control, but the reward is only a marginal gold superconductor.

Head to the control room on the opposite side, and get the key card and power node in the room. Exit through the next door. In the following corridor, the power drops for a few seconds, but you're otherwise not in danger.

The only threat is returning to the elevator, where a necromorph will drop from the ceiling while passing through the antechamber.

D Deck - Maintenance[edit]

The Maintenance deck contains the SOS beacon.

Repair Room[edit]

Aside from a few enemies, there's nothing much here.

Maintenance Chamber[edit]

This chamber leads to a transport lift. Use the Kinesis module to pull it towards yourself, and activate it to reach the other side. During the transport, you will be attacked by pods on the left and right, which are easily killed by a plasma cutter.

The end of the lift will let you see Nicole, who will help you in the next room to retrieve the SOS beacon.

Equipment Maintenance Bay[edit]

In the final room, Nicole will work to unlock the door for the SOS beacon. Necromorphs will drop from the ceiling on her side, and it will eventually be followed by those attacking you directly.

When the door opens, Nicole will mention finding another way to catch up with you. Enter the maintenance storage room, collect the Level 4 suit schematic and SOS beacon.

The return trip will be mostly the same, but you're additionally attacked but Lurkers. After the lift returns, you can reach the extraction deck.

C Deck - Extraction[edit]

In this deck, you will send out the call for help.

Extraction Room[edit]

The initial room has poor visibility, with enemies hiding behind the smoke screen.

First, you will need to head left - you can use the store and bench here to upgrade as desired. However, you will need to get the power box from the elevator, and bring it to the other side; during this, there will be additional leapers that approach.

Mining Bay[edit]

The mining bay is preceded by a stasis recharge, which you should use. Stasis is not technically required, but it will make it easier to remove the gravity tether.

There are four tethers - two on the inside and two on the outside hull. To disable a tether, use stasis to slow down the device, and shoot the exposed core. If you are out of stasis, either head back to the recharge, or use an automatic weapon such as the pulse gun.

To reach the outer tethers, make a zero-G jump to the asteroid, and quickly run to the outside half before the heavy bars swing across the inner asteroid. Destroy the tethers the same way, place the beacon on the asteroid, and return to the ship before oxygen runs out.

Mining Control[edit]

The trip to mining control is a bit more dangerous. Take the power box with you, but you'll have to time your movements to avoid the fire burst from the columns.

In the control room, you can release the tether. Once you do, hold out against a wave of necromorphs that drop from the ceiling. After the wave, you can return to the bridge.

The only remaining threat will be a single necromorph that drops on the main elevator and a few stragglers in the Rig room (where you see the store and bench.)
