Def Jam: Vendetta is not easy game to master. These are the tips for each mode.

Tutorial[edit]

The video clip shows Manny and the other opponents in a showcase to how the controls work as well as what you can do to win this game. If you use the PS2 controls for example, you can see what buttons you can use like moving the Neutral rstick in any direction to enter blaze mode.

Building your hip hop wrestler[edit]

Throughout the story mode, you need to upgrade your person to be able to last until the final fight against D-Mob, not to mention that the game gets slightly more difficult as you go through the story. The best thing you can do is to balance your stats so you can handle the hardship it takes to beat the opponent whether its strength or defense or both depending on where you want to go with it. If you finish the game with your choice of fighter, then you can't upgrade your stats anymore.

Catfight![edit]

It's inevitable. Girls will try to be on your side until near the end of the story. If you want a full set of girl pictures in the gallery, you have to win the fight with the girl you choose to have by your side.

Tag team and free for all[edit]

Tag team not covered by tutorial is what you'll be doing occasionally in Story Mode and if you like to go for multiplayer mayhem. Don't think you can easily win when it comes to submissions and pins, because the opponent will step in and stop you from succeeding, although your ally will come to help for a period of time. For free for all, try to keep one on one away from the other opponents unless you want to do a double team attack.

Blaze mode and TKO[edit]

This is perhaps the most effective way of winning. You can use your special moves to drain your opponents health and consequently lose a lot of your momentum. To use your blaze mode, be effective on your attack and keep it from being repetitive. Your blaze has limited time until you have to build your momentum. The best time to use it is when your opponent is in danger mode and using blaze mode will result in TKO.

Pin and submission[edit]

Another way of winning is putting your opponent through pain for a quick way of ending the game. Simply submit your opponent's body part indicated by a red marker, and it will tell you if you're close to making a submission. With pinning your opponent, the only way it would work is if your opponent's health is in danger. If you're using either methods, keep it away from the ropes or you'll get a rope break and be forced to let go of the opponent.
